SLEEPYCATT is an electronic musician from Hamilton, Ontario. His songs are onthe spectrum of club and trap music with fast tempos, tight vocal chops, and hardhitting bass. Associated with Toronto collective Bedroomer and Jersey collectiveJiggyThvtMusic, he pulls inspiration from artists along the east coast of theUnited States specifi cally those from New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. Heproduces music to dance to, and his live sets are proof of that.
4 years learning and playing jazz bass has provided SLEEPYCATT with the skillsand mindset required to make music that has enough groove and energy to getcrowds of any age moving, while still incorporating physical instruments and jazztheory to keep his tracks from getting repetitive.
In 2015 SLEEPYCATT placed top 10 in the Juno’s Turn it On: Sound Offcompetition by performing an original track live in front of the judging panel thatconsisted of John ‘Beetle’ Bailey, Dan Edmonds, JP Gauthier, and Mike Hurley.More recently he was voted #1 on a Wavo Remix Competition for JoJo and RemyMa’s song FAB, with support on the track from Vincent (Winnipeg, ParadigmAgency) and Brenmar (NYC, Fool’s Gold Records) along with countless others.SLEEPYCATT is currently studying architecture at University of Waterloo whilemoonlighting as a club producer to build his catalog and eventually take it toshows and festivals around Canada.
