The winners of Shindig! 2011 were announced last night. Three Vancouver bands competed in the final round, held as usual at the Railway Club. Judges picked Sleuth as their favourite, followed by the arty (they have a theremin!) dance-rock ensemble Tyranahorse. A teenage singer/songwriter, Norika Yew – performing under the name From Birch to Yew – came in third. - The Snipe News

There is a story that everyone has about how friends gathered with common interests and complimentary temperaments to form a band, ours is likely one of those in truth, but we prefer the version where the collective writings of Julian Bowers and The Lion in Love fused after one night of sleep deprivation and galvanized with the work-horse-like ethics of keyboardist, Oliver McTavish-Wisden and bassist, Jesse Leon Easter.
We are interested in sodapop, pop music, hootenannies, shindigs, soirées and clambakes.
