Bio

What happens when you take four accomplished musicians and put them together in one room? Not only will they emerge with some of the best music you've heard in years, but they will drive one another to reach higher levels of perfection. That is exactly the case with the band Slick. These musicians have all performed in previously well-known bands. With that, they each bring something special to the table that contributes to the overall presentation. When you experience a Slick performance, you can expect to be impressed no matter which instrument you like best.

Slick takes the daunting mechanics of creating music and makes it look so easy. Whether you like to study the instrumental detail or simply dance the night away, their show has something to offer everyone. They take the audience on a magical voyage of old and forgotten melodies from the 50's through the 80's. Four part vocal harmonies bring real magic to the countless hits from days gone by.

Now let's meet the guys behind the music.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rob Stotz
Guitar and Vocals
When it comes to vocals and guitar, no one does the job quite like Rob Stotz. His exquisite voice has captivated audiences far and wide for many years. Whether he is doing his rendition of Elvis Presley, Paul Anka, or Don Cherry, people quickly sit up and take notice. Add to that his wide-ranging talent on guitar and you have a huge asset to the band.

Rob began his musical drive at age 15 playing with The Morris Brothers Band from Hershey PA. There he shared lead vocals and carried out guitar duties. He later teamed up with The Excelsiors where he switched to bass and sang lead vocals. The country band, Ghost Riders eventually lured him over to their side of the tracks and enjoyed his talents for a lengthy run. Memory Lane recognized his appeal and called upon him to front their show as lead vocalist. When Rob finally landed in Menagerie and the road band Pinnacle, they began a long success performing all over the east coast as well as home town venues.

With a track record like that, it's easy to see how Rob knows the business so well. He frequently makes suggestions that bring the show to a higher level. As a self-taught musician who plays by ear, he is skillful on guitar, bass, drums and keyboard. No matter what the style, whether Rock, Top 40, Disco, or Country, Rob knows just how to give the music his own delightful flavor to energize audiences.

Billy Wray
Keys and Vocals
Few people would argue that the piano is among the most beautiful sounding instruments. Billy Wray knows something about making it sound simply amazing. He started playing when he was only 5 years old. Within a few short years, he excelled beyond what the lessons had to offer. He swiftly leaped ahead to study music theory on his own and in no time was dissecting songs and writing chord charts for area bands. By age 9 he was being paid to play for audiences. At age 13, he joined up with The Monacoes, (an R&B/Motown Band,) who went on to share stages with such acts as Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels and Nina Simone, to name a few. He was also called upon to entertain audiences at the well known Hershey Starlight Ballroom.

Throughout his early teens, Billy was turning out to be quite a remarkable musician. Not only did he play the piano, but The Patriot News Newspaper had revealed to everyone his amazing ability to play 12 different instruments, including trumpet for the school band and french horn in the school's orchestra.

Billy has fond memories of performing for two Pa Governors, Hershey Park, (for 15 years,) and The Pride of the Susquehanna's dinner cruises, (for 21 years.) He has been a major part of so many programs with various country clubs, solo concerts, and jazz duos, that he has stopped counting.

At Slick rehearsals, Billy often plays the role of band-leader when it comes to working out complex harmonies or creative arrangements. With 2 full CD recording projects under his belt, he has become one of the area's most revered musicians.

Bob Richmond
Bass and Vocals
Bob's passion for music started at age 14 through watching his father play the piano. He naturally picked up parts of those melodies and began to play himself. Even though he never took lessons, he would eventually go on to teach himself seven different instruments entirely by ear.

Bob's stage debut began with a country band, Jenny Lynn and the Combinations, followed by The Radiants, The Excelsiors and Jay Wamsley, The Lost River Band, and Amarillo. While serving in the military, he also enjoyed being a part of the army band.

He has been playing both rock and country for over 40 years. He has had the honor and privilege of being part of the bands opening for Sheb
