"I MADE IT single review!"

New artist, new label, new vibe! Forget the gloom and doom of the worldwide recession because there’s a new colourful character in town set to put a smile on your face and with this new banger entitled ‘I Made It’ you’ll be feeling great again! LOL. But seriously this has those horns, those Roc-A-Fella Records type horns, the horns that make you dance, and complimented with an excellent flow and swagger, this track is already causing major attention. Taken from the full-length CD ‘Superstar’ this track is sure to cement this West Coast MC into the limelight!

"I Made It track review"

Not many do what Slickmouth's done. This UK to US transplant now lives back in the UK and he's just dropped the first single, 'I Made It', from his street album 'Superstar.

'I Made It' features a buoyant beat, a woman singing 'Let the horns blow' (and they do) and confident vocals from Slickmouth reminiscent of Lupe's. It's one of those tracks where you don't exactly hear every word but you just like the sound as a combination of it's elements.

I've just checked out his myspace, as you should. The beats have that real soulful sound that folk like me really want from Hip Hop!

This is a nice feel good track that I can imagine Swiss Beats making. It’s like that… the horns blow wild on this one and the quality of the production is major label standard without a doubt. London born and Californian raised, Slickmouth has a great vocal tone and a real nice swagger. This track is uplifting without being cheesy, this track makes you dance without getting rowdy and above all it will sweeten your ears in this current climate of doom, gloom and worldwide recession. This single is taken off the full-length CD ‘Suparstar’ which I have been promised I will be getting soon and if this single is anything to go by it’s going to be a brilliant release.

"I Made It Single Release"

Originally born in London, then moved out to the West Coast of America and now back in the UK, Slickmouth is definitely an emcee to watch out for in 2009. This track is the first single to be taken off his forthcoming CD ‘Superstar’, which if this song is anything to go by, is going to be a great release. Tony Rowley takes a look at the new single.

‘I Made It’ is uplifting to say the least as executes trumpets, horns over a fat kick drum and banging clap. Slickmouth doesn’t have that West Coast gangster swagger; he is more like your conventional East Coast or Chicago rapper with nice punch-lines and a great vocal tone. I think if you like the new wave of rap such as Skyzoo, Lupe Fiasco and Ali Vegas, then you will be well into Slickmouth.

This track has really wet my appetite to get the full release. I hope it’s as good as this track! He has a great delivery on the microphone and with all singles, it’s probably the most accessible thing he has done. I wonder what his deeper stuff will be like?

Slick by name, slick by nature but not so slick that he will let his
rhyming game slip! SlickMouth is a talented lyricist who needs
to be heard by all. Hailling from London, growing up in Los Angeles
before returning home here in the UK, his music gives an assortment
of hip-hop flavours to suit everyone’s tastes.

He has received well earned respect and praise for his first mix tape
‘And there she was’ and is surely going to grace us again with his soon
to be released second project titled ‘Superstar’ and that he is indeed!

Make sure you all open your eyes, ears and hearts to him, because
talent like this deserves backing!!!! - Fat Talent

LP - And there she was. A single in 2008 - ACT RIGHT Currently -'I made it'

Slickmouth was born in London in the mid-eighties before moving Nigeria and then on to Los Angeles where he spent most of his teenage years. He now living back in London, Slickmouth has been writing, creating and perfecting his style over the last three years. This is maybe the secret to his music, as it also is well traveled and has that international worldwide appeal. The Slickmouth sound is something unique, something refreshing and above all it’s entertaining as twists up soulful grooves with poetically soothing lyrics, while always being exciting and forward-thinking in his approach.

His first assault of the UK music industry was his debut CD entitled ‘And There She Was’ which dropped in 2008. This release gained a real underground street buzz as well as some serious radio play for Slickmouth. As well as a string of pirate and internet stations supporting the release, Slickmouth also had airplay on BBC1Xtra as well as old skool veteran DJ 279 from Choice FM playing two tracks from the CD; ‘Ain’t Nobody’ and ‘Act Right’. It was this release that got him deep in the game and now Slickmouth has worked with a string of commendable UK artists including as M9 from Triple Darkness, G-Frsh, A-Tola, Dexplicit (the producer of Lethal B’s ‘Pow’ hit) and many more, as well as setting up his own situation called the ILLSET Camp where he works with two in-house producers called Bayb-B and S.C.

Now in 2009 Slickmouth is ready to unleash his best work to date with a collection of brilliant recordings which will be known as ‘Superstar’. This will be his second solo effort and will include the massive single ‘I Made It’ which is already heating up the airwaves with various DJ’s showing the track a lot of love, not just here in the UK but overseas as well. A string of showcases from some major US labels including Def Jam have been lined up, so I guess the bidding war has already begun! Slickmouth is one seriously talented recording artist and offers so much more than just tales of guns, drugz and women. This is real Hip-Hop music with that edge and certain swagger that is unique to Slickmouth. UK stand up, a new king has been born and his name is Slickmouth!!!
