Slim Dollars

Slim Dollars is the definition of a Harlem hustler. The Uptown wordsmith and leader of the Tripset crew is spear heading the new Harlem renaissance. SD, born Sharod Simmons, was raised in Harlem, New York and fell in love with Music at a young age. During his junior year of high school at Cardinal Hayes all Boys School, SD decided to drop out and pursue music full time. He started out street hustling and battle rapping until he caught the attention of reps from Russel Simmons Music Group. At 19, SD partnered with RSMG releasing a couple of singles and ghostwriting for RSMG artists as well as reality show participants "The Gotti Kids" of "Growing Up Gotti". SD developed his song writing craft at RSMG up until it folded. It was this early opportunity that convinced SD music was his true calling. SD spent the next couple of years creating music independently, releasing projects, "Introduction to Dollars", "Hell Up In Harlem" and "Songs About Her". It wasn't until a meeting with Emory Jones (Rocnation) and Just C (Rocawear), after the release of "Direct Deposit", did SD begin to gain momentum. It was under the tutorial of these men SD began to grow. No longer was he just an artist, but now a model, brand ambassador, event curator or as Sway of Serius XM labeled him, "a future mogul". 

Slim has worked with a diverse collection of brands in many different aspects. SD has modeled for Rocawear, Billionaire Boys Club, Rocksmith, Lugz and Sprayground Book Bags. SD, along with Tripset, also created a independent music festival entitled "Littfest". It was a platform for independent artist in the tri-state area to perform in front of 2500 people as well as network with different media outlets, labels and brand representatives. Littfest alum include, Smoke Dza, Dave East, Nitty Scott, BBOD, Perrion and Fame School. Brand sponsors included, Lyft, Deep Eddy Vodka, Add Magazine, and Tommy Boy Records amongst others. 

After experiencing success outside the studio, SD returned giving his fans two projects, "Treasonable Doubt" and "New Phone Who Dis" (NPWD). Slim Dollars does not plan to stop in 2016. He's currently working on NPWD 2, Songs About Her 2, as well as 2 currently untitled projects. He also intends to bring back Littfest this summer along with Tripset other annual events. 

Slim Dollars is a man with ambition, determination and a drive comparable to no other; 2016 will be the year of Slim Dollars and the Tripset.
