The best kept secret in music

“Slingstone is the band that will rock and stir up the hearts of the audience for the Lord.

I first met Slingstone in late 2003 through their Band Manager Jamie Masopust. After attending one of their practice sessions, I knew that I wanted them to be part of our first concert of 2004, “The Ancient One”. After the concert, many people purchased their CD and just few weeks later, they have been booking themselves all around the Midwest. The last Slingstone concert I attended was on June 18th in Indianapolis and I was blessed. The band has a unique combination of varied but complimenting harmony that brings the message straight to the heart of the audience. One of their strengths was their song lyrics that bring glory to God. They are a humble band who just wants to worship the Lord.”

Feeling a bit camera shy

Edgy and guitar driven, this worship band's mission seeks to bring down the barriers between God and his people, opening the way for a pouring out of the Holy Spirit. The members of Slingstone believe there is power behind music - power to deliver, power to heal, power to set the prisoner free. We want to be living sacrifices, our music an outpouring for the purposes of God.

Our band is made up of mostly family and we have played all kinds of music together throughout the years. Our influences range from bluegrass to rock and most anything in between. Our music has so much variety that it is really tough to stick us in any one genre! Travis (one of our lead vocalist and guitarist) brings country, bluegrass and rock influences. Jason (our phenomenally talented lead guitarist) thrives on classic rock (80's licks) and worship music, Jennifer (the other lead singer) can belt out blues, sound like Jewel or Norah Jones and bring you tears with her worship ballads. We have one song "Jericho" that sounds like something from Santana and others that sound more like the Spindoctors. One, "War of Ages", even reminds us of Leonard Skynard. So whatever you like, you'll probably find at least one of our songs to enjoy.
