"Hypnotic Trip-Folk"

"Trip-folk" artist's hypnoticism will conjure comparisons to Spiritualized and Mercury Rev. The theremin'd "With My Head Down on the Table" is our favorite. "Last of a Kind" confirms that Weintraub's lonesome voice is stone-perfect for his material. Arranged with a studied, less-is-more approach, but
you wonder if a more full-blown treatment is called for; labels certainly prefer an act that can excite live. Still, this full-lengther deserves attention
from alternative indie labels. - The Music Connection

Bio

Slips into Space is a psychedelic rock band based out of Los Angeles. From the beginning, in 2005, there was something that stood out about the way that the band connected while jamming. After two years and two changes to the lineup, they finally found the perfect balance when bassist Paul Hiller joined and quickly fit their unique style. From funk to progressive rock, jazz to hard rock, Slips Into Space performances include fun covers, compelling originals, and always impress.

Greatest influences include but are not limited to: Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, Phish Tool, Yes, Rush, and many more.

Members include:

Benjamin Weintraub (Keyboards, Vocals) has been writing songs since he was ten years old, mostly on acoustic guitar. He has spent most of his adult life recording those songs on self released solo albums such as Sleepy (2004) and Stop Following Me (2006). This prompted him to form Slips Into Space in 2005. Transitioning from rhythm guitar to piano, organ and synthesizer was an incredible shift in his creative outlook. Entire new worlds opened up to him and Slips Into Space was the perfect vehicle.

David Harari (Guitar, Vocals) is as much influenced by hip-hop as he is by rock and roll. His warm guitar tone can be heard playing both screaming lead, or adding texture during jams. Never one to shy away from a dank beat, he’s most comfortable playing Slips Into Space music, but a cool cover is only a song away.

Paul Hiller (Bass) started playing bass at a young age. Heavily influenced by John Paul Jones and soon became influenced by Phil Lesh and Mike Gordon. During jams, Paul usually has an amazing knack to find the thickest groove and lay it down for people to rock out to. No matter what style the music takes on, Paul relentlessly delivers some powerfully thick rhythm to the mix.

Jesse Austin (Drums, Vocals) is a musical nutcase. He usually tries to keep the band on their toes while improving. Jesse has been possessed by music and drumming since the age of 7 years old. His styles range from break beats, blues and funk, to metal, rock and jazz, and all points in-between. He usually writes the shorter, straight to the point, catchy tunes, and throws out the obscure ideas for covers. From light music to dark and heavy, he has a knack for finding solidity in most any jam.
