Bio

If you asked Slip the Deuce what they sound like, you'd probably get an answer close to "Uhh." Hailing from Dundas, Ontario, this group of four set out to write music based on influence, and not just Xerox another band’s work. What have they come up with? The best they can say is, “softer rock with influence of jazz, blues, and pop.” Even that is open to interpretation.

However, what can be said about Slip the Deuce is that their music is entertaining, interesting, and thoughtful. Between the rhythm section of seasoned drummer Jon Harvey and bassist/vocalist TK Dallman, they create the perfect backbone for the guitar riffs and solos of Mike Macpherson and Mike Hahn. This, combined with layers of harmony creates a full sound with a wide-spanning use of emotion.

But what makes Slip the Deuce so unique? Perhaps it’s the separate influence of each member. While Jon played drums for the Parkside Jazz Band, Mike Macpherson learned guitar strumming and soloing from rock/blues greats, and TK was first musically interested by the simplicity of punk and indie music. Mike Hahn, on the other hand, grew his style from the likes of Zeppelin, and The Band. Intertwined in this menagerie of genres somewhere lays the music and words of Slip the Deuce, as they challenge themselves to improve their writing every day.
