Bio

Slique describes his music as Rhythm and Ghetto Soul, an apt explanation for the uniquely talented vocalist, songwriter, producer, arranger and performer. "My music is R&B but I call it R&G because I'm from the ghetto. It's classic sounds and stlyings with the street wise credibilty of today."

This Chicago native was raised in a family of musicians and discovered that writing songs came naturally to him. At the age of three, Slique was fascinated with his Fisher Price record player. By 13, Slique was chopping up songs to create unique instrumental tracks that he'd rap or sing over. Within a few short years he found himself writing, arranging and producing for artists such as Entourage and Cherish, while working with Do or Die, Crucial Conflict, Public Announcement and The Producers. He perfected his unique ability to emotiionally connect with his audience opening for major artists including Brian McKnight, Floetry, R. Kelly, Jaheim, and Tyrese.

Slique reflects on his career stating his favorite project thus far has been writing and recording the forthcoming album. "It's a very versatile album and reflects my inflluences- Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, New Edition, the Jodeci's, Silk - if you like Gospel, R&B, if you like soul, Hip Hop, love - making music . . . it's a variety of styles all on one project - it's for everybody."

Slique's music reflects his unique outlook on life; relationships are a consistent and predominant theme. He sings about the experience of falling in love and then failing out or, occasionally, being kicked out. His sound is soulful and heartfelt speaking directly to, and touching the hearts of ladies everywhere. The single Your Body was the result of a stroke of inspiration while playing around with chords on the piano in the studio. He turned on the mic, came up with a whole Marvin Gaye vibe and let the lyrics flow. Your Body recently achieved #1 status on Billboard Magazine's Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart.

"I've been working on this project for quite some time and to see it come into existence is great. I'm going to continue to make music, to be real, write what I feel from my heart and to be myself and hopefully people will appreciate that."

Slique has the makings of a super star, and will soon set foot on the world stage to emerge as the new voice of R&G.
