Much love goes out to Slo V and Retro. Its my 2nd interview with them and seeing the progression is just amazing, being that in this industry, its a NON stop grind and HUSTLE. This two have been on that grind and it has gotten them here today. With hit songs “Buzzin”, and “Up Next” these two definitely knows how to create a BUZZ to even be talked about. They compliment each other and take their craft seriously. They’ve actually both known each other since elementary days and just kept the friendship going and starting rapping with each other at a young age. This Haitian and Dominican duo first gained notice within the city of Heat as the exceedingly creative "dark horse" of the streets when their first mixtape—accurately titled "Tha Underdogs"—exploded onto the scene. Followed by their collaboration with well-known Miami artist Ballgreezy on the single "My Vibe", the duo's local following quickly grew.
Slo V & Retro have been rapping and recording music together since the tape deck days. Not only do they share the same island as their homeland, they also share cultural traditions that are deep rooted from many generations. Slo V and Retro Release Lowerbotton on the Heels of Successful Hit Single
Miami duo, “Slo V” and “Retro” are coming off a recent hit with their single, How They Feel. The single hit the top of iHeart Radio within a month. Their new album release, Lowerbottom, has been described as a “clever mix of relatable issues,
unapologetic lyrics over mainstream Miami production.” The album released on November 19th 2015.
Miami, FL—Miami has become a new Hip Hop capital and local celebrities Slo V and Retro are riding that wave of trendy Hip Hop to radio stations all over South Florida. This duo believe that their sound will also translate to people living outside the region that want jams that take the best of urban rap and combines it with meaningful lyrics. “People love to party,” says Slo V. “We bring beats to the table that make you want to get up and dance, but with raps that have an edge to them. The Miami sound is spreading in the US as evidenced by Flo Rida and Rick Ross, and we’re bringing ‘Miami to folks’, but Miami by way of the Lowerbottom.”
Slo V and Retro share deep-rooted cultural traditions stemming back to their birthplaces of Haiti and Dominican Republic which makes the collaboration work.
