"Liveshow Review"

I had the awesome opportunity to listen to Slow the
Knife on-line at slowtheknife.com before I went to a
live show. I was very impressed with the web-site and
the unique sound of stk.

Rock, has been a passion of mine for many years. It is
not an easy thing to have a live show blow me away.
That is exactly what this group of talented musicians
did it and did it well, wow.

The room capturing vocals of lead singer John Lee,
will take you to a new place. I wanted to just jump
down his throat and watch the control at work. He had
an amazing hold on his notes. He was well backed up by
his band.

The combination of passion within the group, Carl
Hebert, who plays guitar and is hot, flows perfectly
with, guitar player, Ryan Clark. Kicking in the beat,
bass player Cody Guidry, slaps give it to me. Leith
Adams, plays drums, answering the slap, never missing
a beat.

The crowd at Spanish Moon were totally into this
performance. Everyone was singing the praises to stk.
The band handed out their t-shirts after the show.
These t-shirts rock. When I got home with my t-shirt,
my fourteen year old went crazy. She checked out the
band on-line and listened to their cd. She is a big
fan, which is perfectly fine with me.

Check out the web-site, and leave the guys a message.
Make sure to find out where they are playing next.
This is a five star show you don’t want to miss. - Sherry Francis, Entertainment Writer - Rhythm City Magazine

Bio

SLOWTHEKNIFE started in the summer of 2003 with one thing in mind, to create a sound that would penetrate the listeners mind, demanding that it be heard repeatedly until nothing else remained. For the past two and a half years, SLOWTHEKNIFE has been playing and writing music with such an effect on the listener that their fan base continues to grow with every live show.
Based in South Louisiana, SLOWTHEKNIFE includes musical veterans John Lee (vocals), Carl Hebert (guitar) and Alex Bergeron (bass), all former members of Fractured and Agents of Oblivion, as well as Leith Adams (drums) of 9’s Coldest. The combination of influences from each member, ranging from Black Sabbath and The Misfits to Quicksand, has given the music of
SLOWTHEKNIFE a certain style that cannot be distinguished. Powered by bone crunching guitar and bass set to head pounding drums, it leaves the listener battered and bruised. The vocals then bring it to its peak; soft, almost soothing at times, then in an instant becomes guttural and enraged.
The live performances by SLOWTHEKNIFE are a must see, with an energy and force that has captivated audiences all along the Gulf Coast, leaving one critic for Baton Rouges’ Rhythm City Magazine to write, “It is not an easy thing to have a live show blow me away. That is exactly what this group did, and did it well…". SLOWTHEKNIFE has had the oppurtunity to share the stage with such acts as Drowning Pool (Wind Up Records), as well as emrging artists like Bleed the Sky and In this Moment (Century Media), The Murdered (Tribunal Records), My Ruin (Rovena Recordings) and Deconstruct (Apocalypse Records).
SLOWTHEKNIFE are currently signed to Set X records (Texas) and released their first EP entitled "The Rhetoric's Guide to Self Infliction" in August, as well as picking up a Jagermeister endorsement in October of 2005.
