Biography

Is Comprised of four guys who are itching to quit their day jobs so they can smack people in the noggin with HEAVY music. SMACKHEAD formed in 1994. Over this time, they have written over 30 originals that have entertained local music go'ers all over the bay area. Here are some SMACKHEAD accomplishments worth mentioning: Airplay on Tampa Bay's 98ROCK during the Bubba the Love Sponge morning show and at night's on 98ROCK's Rubber Room. This airplay has taken them to the next level in the Tampa Bay area. Won Tampa Bay's 'Best Band' award at the Tampa Bay Music Awards two years in a row. In 1997, SMACKHEAD won the honor of opening for QUEENSRYCHE by competing in a battle of the bands, beating out close to 100 applicants. They did it again in '98 playing for a full house opening for MOTLEY CRUE. They have also become a 98ROCK favorite for station events, playing Guavaween '97 & '98 on the 98ROCK stage, opening for national acts DAYS OF THE NEW, VERUCA SALT, CANDLEBOX, SECOND COMING, ECONOLINE CRUSH, & more! On 98ROCK's Livestock '98 stage, they were given the prime spot between Saturday night's headliners CREED and MEGADETH, playing to nearly 15,000 people. Smackhead continued their reign of terror by playing again at livestock 9 'the final chapter' in '99 playing after GODSMACK and opening for SLASH'S SNAKEPIT. Recently the bandplayed it's 3rd livestock between STATIC X and STAIND and was nominated for Jam Magazine's 'JAMMY AWARD', one of florida's most prestigious awards. The band has sold 1000 cds in the florida area and other parts of the country. SMACKHEAD has also just recorded their second release which is available right here online and in stores all over the country.
