"Spotlight: S-MAK"

A new visual from up-and-coming S-MAK reaches us today. Taken from his double mixtape 20 20, the Los Angeles native presents a Eric Guerrero-directed visual for the lyrically sharp cut "Judgement Day (Act I)." With the passion he puts into each song as well as his ability to create vivid stories through his art, expect his buzz to grow in the coming months. On this note, watch the clip above and be on the lookout for his upcoming DJ Skee-hosted mixtape Mad Mak due this spring. - Hypetrak / Hypebeast

"Indie Spotlight: S-MAK"

For this month’s Def Sounds Indie Spotlight we feature S-Mak, who received a tremendous response when we introduced the LA rep to you with his “6 Minute: Live From La Freestyle.” At the time of hearing the freestyle, I knew I had to reach out, and get S-Mak featured in the spotlight. With that said, look-out for S-Mak to make a major impact on the industry… as he is extremely talented, and I don’t see too many emcee’s touching Mak when it comes to skills on the mic.

Read up on S-Mak, download/stream his 2-part 20-20 mixtape series that contains 40 tracks of straight heat, Side A: Uprise and Side B: Aftermath, and take to the comment section to leave your thoughts and opinions on the extremely talented 25 year old emcee, who I could soon see at the forefront of the West. - DefSounds

"S-MAK’S CONTROVERSIAL 6-MINUTE FREESTYLE WITH DJ SKEE"

“Muthafuck the government…” Well, that’s one way to catch listener’s attention when you kick off a six minute freestyle session. Los Angeles newcomer S-Mak, complete with a Rick Ross/Freeway beard, goes hard on DJ Skee’s radio show and shows off his freestyle skills. - Ozone Magazine

"S-MAK - The Beginning Of All End"

S-Mak looks like a boss but sounds more like God's son. His boastful lyrics, speedy delivery, joined by a smooth flow are what make this young rebel in my eyes a lost emperor... make way. If your feelin this visual make sure to cop the mixtape: 20 20. Watch for S-Mak and DJ Skee to colab on his next project #MADMAK set to drop in Spring 2012. - Donuts&Milk

Bio

Scott Antilla Thomas or better known as "S-MAK" was born in Los Angeles, CA and at an early age was exposed to music. His father was part of the production/writing team for R&B group Rolse Royce during the late 70's and his older brother was mentored by muliti-Grammy winning producer Rodney Jerkins.

By the early age of fifteen, S-MAK spent countless hours in the studio and in schoolyard battles sharpening his skills. He also studied the art of songwriting and wordplay by being surrounded by 70's Soul music and listening to some of the most prolific wordsmiths of that time.

Fast forward five years and S-MAK put out his first mix tape titled "20/20". A double mix-tape packed with Mak's vicious rhymes and crafty wordplay over remixed beats.

After releasing "20/20", it caught the attention of world famous DJ Skee who signed him to his SkeeMusic imprint.

Currently, S-MAK has teamed up with longtime friend and talented producer THX (Snoop, David Banner) to produce a brand new offering of original beats and lyrics titled "MAD MAK".

This will be S-MAK's second mix-tape but unlike the first, "Mad Mak" will include original music.

Labeled as a lyrical beast and compared to the likes of a Nas, Jay Z and Tupac, S-MAK sets to shake off comparisons and stand alone as the next great lyricist.

Be on the look out for "MAD MAK" and stay tuned for more S-MAK updates. www.OfficialSMak.com
