Bio

Smile on impact; Describes the philosophy and energy of its founder, Arlo Picasso. The Self Proclaimed 'Ultra-genius' and ruler of the known Universe, has been creating and recording music, since the invention of electricity, in 1997. At this time, he was 14 and barely out of diapers. He began, by rubbing two sticks together, when this proved useless, he switched to a Pentium 100 and the freeware program Fasttracker2. The, gloomy MS DOS, interface didn't make any sound for another six months. But soon, the young muthafucka, was sampling from VHS and vinyl, severing loops apart and back together again with an instinctive proficiency and constructing tracks with a beginning middle and an end. If all this is too much for you to believe, then you must be quite the sceptic. Arlo then began collecting synths, drum machines, hardware and software in a quest to discover the buried treasure of Blue Beard's Accountant. This proved unsuccessful, but the bi-product of hard beats and squelchy Electronica, was more fruitful. Arlo was releasing music by 16 and DJing in clubs at 17, (this means he was not old enough to go to his own shows.) But, that didn't stop him. From 19 to 22 Arlo was slicing beats and samples into his pet projects, Industrial Band SPROKiT and New school metal band SULO, (known Nationwide, for their intensely, energetic live shows) Arlo's current project 'Smile on impact' is an intelligent and progressive take on modern dance Spaning Electro, Breaks and DrumnBass. 2007 saw 'Smile on Impact's live debut at Brown Alley in Melbourne's CBD an unforgettable show that pulled the audience up through pumpin' Electro beats through to Massive DrumnBass Anthems. Since then Smile on Impact has had Airplay on Triple J, Triple R and Kiss FM and the Film clip for 'No Spillin' has received heavy play on Youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnZOW1u85hs) There is much anticipation for Smile on Impact's first release which is rumoured to be more than a simple audio disc, with each track, not only appearing in it's original edit, but also as a high resolution MP3 of the 'Extended Mix' and an Ableton ready 'Live Pack' with additional loops and samples. Making it possible for DJ's to Re-mix each track on the fly. This is most likely a world first and will attract the attention of Digital DJ's internationally. What's more; He has the best beard in the Business The 'Death of Vinyl' is aiming for released in 2007.
