I started songwriting about five years ago. A mutual friend introduced me to George and Lauren. Once I heard Lauren sing and George play his guitar, I knew I had found a home for my lyrics (also known to me as my babies). Like any good mother, I worried over them, how they would be used, would I regret sharing them with someone else? All my worry was for not, because one day in the middle of the Everglades (I went to see Lauren and George open for the Belamy Brothers in the Big Cypress Reservation), I was presented a CD with three songs that George and Lauren had worked on. It was kind of how you feel when you watch your children graduate from high school. My babies had grown up, and I was about to hear from them. I ran to my car to put the CD in my player. I was so excited. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My babies had grown into wonderful rhythms and sounds, oh mama was so proud. George has since passed away, but these songs live on and are proof of his existence and tremendous talent. I am still songwriting, and look forward to having other artists help me raise my children.
