Smoking Strings

Smoking Strings

Smoking Strings is a tight acoustic "sister band" from Atlanta. We are four sisters from Atlanta, aged 8-13. We all began playing classical music at age 4. Since expanding our skills into bluegrass & Celtic genres, we've expanded our range of instruments and played various Atlanta venues.

Our band formed in early 2007, when we began playing jam sessions at Ragamuffin Music Hall in Roswell, GA. We've studied Celtic styles under Katherine Irwin-Thomas and bluegrass under Jackie Whitaker. Annika, our 12 year old fiddler, won the New York Fleadh as best 12 & under Irish fiddler in America (she's competing in the All-Irelands in August.)
