Bio
Smoochie Blanco is no stranger to the music industry and has been penning songs since the tender age of 10. She wholeheartedly embraced her emcee prowess at the age of 15. Multi-talented and multi-faceted, she masterminded and architected her collection of music by drawing from black culture, plights associated with having black skin, personal experiences, and black history. Formerly known as Baby Sharn, Smoochie is a mainstay on the DC music scene and has 5 projects to her credit; The Deferment (2011), Sallie Mae (2011), No Buzz No Love (2012), Let's Call It Black (2016), and Miscellaneous (2019).
She has performed as the opening act for Lyfe Jennings, 3-6 Mafia, The Game and Yung Joc. Awarded with the ‘Bonafide MC’ award by The Pro Seeds Project, she defies any pigeonholes and stereotypes. Most recently, Smoochie was selected to perform at Def Comedy Jam and received a standing ovation by music industry veterans, including the legendary Russell Simmons. Smoochie’s worldliness and insatiable appetite for music and black culture allows her to explore taboo topics, push the status quo, and stir up the norm as a new leader of the Litty Gang, a network of socially-conscious visionaries and revolutionaries.
