The SaxManRan (SMR)/WebbStarr Stage Explosion is the culmination of many years experience from recording artist SaxManRan and Turntablist/MC WebbStarr. Based in Dallas, TX singer/songwriter SaxManRan is supporting his solo release Double Choastin on the Double Choastin Tour. Accompanied by DJ Webbstarr their unique and versatile sets are comprised of remixes of SMR titles performed with live instruments, turntables and guest artists.
SaxManRan has been a musician from the start - playing sax at age 10 and gigging with his fathers blues band at age 12. SMR has an accomplished list of studio credits performing a variety of instruments on better than a dozen albums. Of note are SMRs guest performances on sax joining Austin favorites Larry and Space Truck. As DJ Horn Solo, SMR combines efforts with DJ/Producer The Beat Pimp to promote their release DJ Horn Solo meets the Beat Pimp.
DJ Webbstarr began driving the crowds of Dallas area raves and house parties in 1992. With roots in the Southeast, Webbstarr relocated to Florida to earn a degree in film and recording arts while maintaining a presence in the underground dance music scene. Webbstarr is a Co-creator of Simply Jeff & the Phonoheads, performing at events throughout the country. As an MC, Webbstarr splits the mic duties with vocal partner Ghost in F.D.A.P.
Both Artists have extensive knowledge of music and video production and work tirelessly to record, design and duplicate, as well as promote their own music. Skateboarding together since they were kids, it is only fitting that they own a skateboard and clothing company.
SaxManRan and Webbstarr have been working in the studio developing and rehearsing their powerful stage show, for the final filming of Double Choastin DVD (Fall 2004 release/ tour). Join this motivated team, unstoppable in the manifestation of their dreams.
