“Snaarj, I knew they were going to
be good, but I didn’t know they
were going to be THAT good! Y’all
had me counting. What was beautiful
though was how natural it sounded.” - To a sold-out audience

Bio

Snaarj combines the spirit and abandon of indie rock, the spontaneity and know-how of jazz, and the rhythmic obsession of electronic music to create a sound they've loosely coined "sax pop". They produce music that's both expected and unexpected, eager and patient, familiar and unfamiliar. Their fresh approach to composition combines elements of chamber pop, indie rock, jazz, electronic, and contemporary classical musics to create a sound that is, at once, challenging and engaging, and always feels good.

Snaarj was formed in March 2009 when Josh, Bobby, Dustin, and Ben met in this configuration for the first time. What began
as an informal session revealed a collective curiousity and
commmon musical goals. Snaarj composed new material
and refined their sound, leading to their first performance
in October 2009. In the summer of 2010, Snaarj completed
a successful Midwest summer tour in support of their debut
album (released in June), “Road Snacks”. Most recently,
Snaarj has performed with notable acts such as Grammy-Award Winning bassist Victor Wooten.

Snaarj recently finished recording their second album, "Levels", which will be released in late 2011/early 2012.
