"SNO. - Struggle's Never Over"

Clarksvegas hip hop isn’t just Grimey. While the Scanners-led crew tends to be the first group one thinks of with Southern Indiana hip-hop, emcee SNO is also looking for his time in the spotlight. His brand new long-player, Struggle’s Never Over, is on Bandcamp and at ear X-tacy right now, and shows a different side and flavor to the city. He describes his sound as “Southern with some East Coast flavor. I prefer not to be boxed in though.” The best comparison, to use a contemporary, is Big K.R.I.T., the Def Jam-signed Mississippian who walks that same tight rope. - Leo Weekly (Amy LaVere)

Bio

Name: SNO. (Struggle's Never Over)
Affiliated: theSENSE
Hometown: Louisville, KY (Southern IN)

He started rapping in 1998 when he met C, who introduced him to the head of a local label. That is where he started to hone his craft, and he released his early material with said label. He was apart of a group called “The Untouchables” that broke up in 2004, after which he took a hiatus from music for a while. During that time he realized how much he loved music, the relief that writing provided him, and he's dedicated hisself back to the art form. Because of the time off he's now more focused then ever.

SNO. has been around music his entire life. It started with his parents who had a rock band that practiced at the house on a regular basis. That's where his love of music originated. It wasn't until he discovered rap, that he chose his own direction. He's released three CDs, three mixtapes, several individual tracks, and has appeared on numerous tracks on other artists’ projects. He's also performed regularly throughout Indiana and Kentucky.

His influences are 2Pac, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., Kanye West, Bob Marley, Outkast, Beanie Sigel, Eminem, Bob Dylan, Scarface, Dr. Dre, Marvin Gaye, DMX, Snoop Dogg, Clipse, Frank Sinatra, and many other artists. Those individuals who stood for something and whose lyrics meant something.

He can rap over any beat. When asked to label his sound he replied, "I’d say it’s Southern with some East Coast flavor. I prefer not to be boxed in though." He has been compared to artists such as Big K.RI.T. & J. Cole, because of his knack for story telling and putting his emotions into the music.
