Bio

Hailing from the midst of Austin, TX’s burgeoning late ‘80s industrial music scene, Phildo Owen is an accomplished singer and producer who is best known as one of the original members of legendary Ministry front-man Al Jourgensen’s raunchy, industrial rock n’ roll super-group the Revolting Cocks.

Now, the “CEO of industrial bump and grind” unleashes his heavily-anticipated solo effort SNOW BLACK. Owen’s most dynamic and cohesive effort to date, SNOW BLACK’s debut album The Suggestion Of Power features 9 blistering industrial tracks that are a forward-thinking, scathing indictment of the fast food mentality and the utter complacency that is pervading and eroding American culture.

Gaining his start as the vocalist for Texas’ industrial metal rawkers SKATENIGS, Owen forged a friendship with industrial godfather Al Jourgensen that resulted in numerous collaborations over the years, first with Jourgensen producing the SKATENIGS debut album Stupid People Shouldn’t Breed (Megaforce Records), then with Phildo lending his vocals to the title track of what is arguably RevCo’s best album to date -1990’s raucous Beers, Steers and Queers.

Another collaboration between Owen and Jourgensen on the Revolting Cocks’ latest album Cocked and Loaded (Mar.7.06, 13th Planet / Megaforce Records), resulted in the Owen/Jourgensen penned track ‘Dead End Streets’ performed by Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick) and Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys) on vocals.

Owen’s other endeavors include work behind the boards producing/remixing such industrial acts as Skrew, X-Cops (Gwar) and Pigface.

Now, with the RevCo tour behind him, Phildo is set to turn his attention back to SNOW BLACK. The message is simple, yet urgent: it is a lyrical call-to-arms to wreak havoc on conformity, to rebel against the idiocy that is inherent in societal institutions, to stop tolerating nefarious political administrations, corrupt corporations, and the evils of capitalism. And all of this delivered via the electronic assault on the senses that is SNOW BLACK.

SNOW BLACK’s debut full-length The Suggestion Of Power will be available soon and is an absolute MUST for fans of Ministry and Revolting Cocks. In a world of pre-fabricated bubble-gum pop music, you might find it necessary to take a listen to SNOW BLACK and maybe, as Phildo proclaims, you too will “wake up and discover for yourself exactly what is real.”
