Snowday

 Brooklyn, New York, USA
BandPopRock

Indie Pop/Rock influenced by The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Shins, Modest Mouse, friends & life.

Biography

Snowday started as the brainchild of Jonathan Foster in his bedroom in Eastern Long Island. What began as a handful of self produced recordings eventually morphed into a more collaborative band as Jon teamed up with long time friend and producer Kia Eshghi. Soon after they were joined by the talents of Ernesto Karolys (Drums) , Ed Marks
(Keys) MIchelle Iwaszkiewicz (Vocals), and Julian Cassia (Guitar). With the talent and energy derived from this new configuration, Snowday started to gain some momentum. Despite being new to the scene, Snowday has earned several impressive accolades. ABC TV series "The Fosters" ( Produced by J-LO) placed the song "Trireme" in an episode in it's premiere season. Southampton Press wrote a feature story about the band which appeared both on the covers of the paper and the Living & Arts section. CAKESHOPNYC wrote a flattering review of Race to the Meadow, the b-side of the first official Snowday release, Prickerbush (Single). After getting their feet wet with stripped down sets at local arts & performance event People Say NY in Watermill, they set out to play the Manhattan & Brooklyn club circuit.

Headlights

Written By: Jonathan Foster

A garden wall with
An unelectable eye
We came along with a sun a cloud
And all the things with which you gave
I’ll trade it all with a wrinkle in mind
Ask why
I am the one that needs to make
It all out
I am the gun that needs to take
It all out
I am the son that needs to make it

Headlights over the fire
Call it a lot to see
Headlights over the fire
Call it a lot for me
He likes this more than the fire
And more that the fire’s gone
Headlights up to the top
Call it under for me

An average walk in
An undetectable sigh
We got it off with a run a cloud
And all the things with which I came
We raisied it up to a bump in the sky
Ask why
I am the one that needs to make
It all out
I am the gun that needs to take
It all out
I am the son that needs to make it

Headlights over the fire
Call it a lot to see
Headlights over the fire
Call it a lot for me
He likes this more than the fire
And more that the fire’s gone
Headlights up to the top
Call it under for me
He likes this more than the fire
More that the fire’s gone
Headlights up to the top
Call it under for me

Prickerbush

Written By: Jonathan Foster

And when the years come down
all the seasons won't go
and when the light goes out
all the secrets won't go

but Haley Haley it's already gone
all this time I've been calling mine
Haley Haley it's already here
all these answers before their time

and though the clock does work
we've erased that time
I can only hold this match
and designate my sign
and now I'm feeling still
these wishes won't be worn
the other weather hurts
been fading all along

The right city the right time
all in my face
the right city the right time
all out of place

Race to the Meadow

Written By: Jonathan Foster

Take up the space
say all you say
cry with the winner in another way
the way it was
taxing your stay
carried yourself so far away
it's a race
to that place
to the meadow
and all your friends
see the end
they'll take two steps from you

Run
Run
Run
Run
