Spirit & Truth

Founded in 1999, Spirit & Truth has truly broken the barriers and stereotypes of what "praise and worship" is by demonstrating that it is all about the message not the style. This is apparent by their usage of several different genres of music including Rap, Hip-Hop, contemporary R&B and Latin styles in their music.

The main goal of Spirit & Truth is to minister God's Word in such a way as to enable people to have a real and genuine life-changing encounter with the Spirit of God.

Spirit & Truth released their debut on compact disc: Spirit & Truth: D.L.O.W. Different Level Of Worship in 2002. True to their form, the C.D. was an eclectic blend of different styles of music all united to praise and worship God! It included the crowd favorite "Give God the Praise", old time favorite with a latin twist, "You Are Awesome", the contemplative and moving ballad, "Stand In Awe", as well as the explosive Hip-Hop remix to Give God the Praise, "GGTP!"

PRAISEOLOGY, their much anticipated sophomore release, hit the scene hard in 2006 with their dynamic harmonies and eclectic styles. "Worthy Praise 2", the disco dance single, "Amazing", the praise and worship anthem, as well as worshipful favorites "I Present My Body", and "I Offer", which was featured on a compilation album to help end world hunger, were some of the memorable hits. This album was also reviewed by Encore Magazine the popular gospel magazine.

Earlier in their career, Spirit and Truth had the privilege of opening for the legendary Andrae Crouch and the incomparable Howard Hewitt over a two day period, and further added to their list of accomplishments by opening for the Christian group Out of Eden at the popular UrbanFest in Oakland California! In 2007, the group was honored to perform at the Drum Major for Justice celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr where renowned actor/orator Louis Gossett, Jr was the keynote speaker. In 2008 stepped into the mainstream again when they were asked to sing behind Country star Trace Adkins for his gospel-flavored hit “Muddy Water” during his tour with Alan Jackson at the Save Mart Center.They have also opened for many artists including Tonex & Kelly Price. They have also shared the stage with an array of different artists in the industry, such as Matthew West, Tye Tribbett, Martha Munizzi, Byron Cage, Bethany Dillon and Jaci Velasquez to name a few.

Their next anticipated album John 4:23, to be released in 2 EP's expects to hit stores in 2013. If their previous 2 albums are any indication, there will be some moving melodies and worshipful songs sure to encourage a deeper relationship with God! Their debut single from the new album Praize Party featuring Christian rapper Tha GIM (the God In Me) and gospel crooner Keysha, is already getting great reviews, and if the rest of the album follows suit, this next album will be their greatest one yet!

Most recently they joined forces with Tha GIM and were heavily featured on his 02-07-2012 release SUPREME, an eclectic blend of Hip-Hop, Soul, & Gospel proving they are still very much diverse in their musical stylings! They have made Threatt Muzik, the label that released SUPREME, their musical home as well, joining Tha GIM, Keysha, Christian artist Amy Berna, & gospel rapper Overcome. Having just completed the label's 3 city SUPREME album release tour in Los Angeles, Oakland, & Fresno, it is clear that the best is definitely yet to come from this veteran gospel group!
