Bio

Snÿper Vÿper was created in May of 1986 by guitarist K. Kopperhead to play metal like it was meant to be played: fast, loud, and with balls of steel. He commissioned his good friend N. Python to play rhythm guitars. Python asked his twin brother S. Cobra to join, but Cobra was dedicated to his band IceInferno. Kopperhead and Python who were already acquainted with the other two members of IceInferno proposed the idea of all three of them joining Snÿper Vÿper. J. Venom and W. Rattlesnake both agreed to join immediately and Cobra shortly after, with little resistance.

The first songwriting sessions proceeded with magical alacrity and shortly after in July of that year they released a demo entitled 'Pit of Snakes.' The demo was recieved extremely well, and after playing several gigs and garnering much attention, Snÿper Vÿper were offered a record deal by Neat Records and eagerly accepted.

In 1987 Snÿper Vÿper recorded their self-titled debut album. It was produced by Flemming Rasmussen and recorded in the Humdrum Studio in Newcastle, England. Following the recording of the albunm Snÿper Vÿper went on to do a full tour of Europe. Snÿper Vÿper shows began selling out, and Kerrang! magazine featured Snÿper Vÿper on the front cover claiming "The messianic serpents have arrived!"

After a year on the road Snÿper Vÿper took a break from live shows to work on their next album, titled "Vyper Strykes Twyce." They worked on the album for the second half of '88 and January of 1989 "Vyper Strykes Twyce" was recorded in the Moribund Studios and was again produced by Flemming Rasmussen. The cd marked both the high point of their musical career and would be the last recording they would make for some time. The tour supporting the album was successful, but the stress on the members was high. After 2 years of constant touring, Snÿper Vÿper went on an indefinite hiatus.

Now in 2008 Snÿper Vÿper has reunited to once again slither the earth. Spirits are high and rehearsals are going well, and with the soon re-release of the two albums and a world tour imminent, Snÿper Vÿper are again a force to be reckoned with and are ready to envenom the world.
