"Richmond Hit Makers, Soapbox, release new album"

Soapbox’s latest album, Lead Filled Can, is the long awaited recording from Richmond, KY’s Eddy Green and Owen Reynolds. With a folky, Americana vibe, rooted deep in the Blues, the music will keep your feet tappin’ time while the lyrical stories sang by Eddy grabs the imagination and sends it straight into the hills and hollers of Eastern Kentucky. With songs like “Three Blind Angels”, “Broke”, and the title track “Lead Filled Can” being included on this recording, it would not surprise me if big things happen for these small town fellas real soon.

Bio

Using their culture’s traditional fatalism, Soapbox is definitively bluegrass and country blues, steeped in the hills of stomps and hollers, from the roots up. The band’s sound intertwines the eclectic tastes of American music and members play a number of roles in multiple bands, tour nationally, and appear on television, radio, and festival stages across the country. Soapbox has shared the stage with Ricky Skaggs, Robert Lockwood Jr., Old Crow Medicine Show, and Alejendro Escovedo, among others. Our goal is to generate worth-the-while music with literary content while keeping the rugs cut. Soapbox’s influences come from across the spectrum of artists and eras alike: Bob (Dylan and Wills), Willie (Dixon and Nelson), John (Prine and Cash), Tom (Petty and Waits), Leonard (Cohen and Nimoy), The Band, Muleskinner, Memphis, Texas, and the synthesis of folk, rock, grass, and blues just to name a few. The list of bands on the resume of the musicians includes The Betweeners, Zoë Speaks, Mitch Barrett, The Boxwine Prophets and many more. Soapbox looks forward to the opportunity to entertain you and your community.
