BIOGRAPHY

The group Sôber is formed in 1994, releasing their first album named Torcidos/Bent in 1997. They sign a contract with Zero Records and publish an EP - Condenado/Damned which is acclaimed by critics. In 1999, they launch Morfología /Morphology which is without a doubt the band’s flagship disc, being one of the most influential works within the rock of the latest years.

This is followed by Synthesis in 2001, selling over 30,000 copies. This makes them sign a deal with Muxxic releasing Paradysso which is mixed in Los Ángeles and becomes platinum, being in lists for over a year. An intense two-year tour takes them all around Spain.

The next album is Reddo, mixed in Los Ángeles, too. It places directly number 2 on the sales lists and becomes gold record within a few weeks. After a long tour, the band decides to take an indefinite break.

During this period, two parallel projects are shaped. On the one hand Savia –Carlos Escobedo and Alberto Madrid- and on the other hand Skizoo – Antonio Bernardini and Jorge Escobedo. What is meant to be a break turns into 3 albums by both bands and their consequent tours. Both projects are the most interesting thing in the rock national scene in those years.

In 2010 Sôber has a real comeback with a compilation record and a new song -`Sombras´/ `Shadows´- , with an energy and vitality which place them on the main current festivals such as Rock in Rio - together with Metallica and Motorhead-, Viñarock, Sonisphere, En Vivo, etc.

They record their first studio album with Sony –Superbia. It is an epic record in which both, critics and audience joins the formerly success. It turns out to get completely “sold-out” concerts all over the country and a new Sôber with more energy than ever before.

They decide to change their record label, and this time Warner is in charge of hiring the group recording their last work Letargo. It is a conceptual record which takes a step forward in everything. Live image and the musical themes raise the bar to limits that nobody had seen in Sôber before. Once more the tour is intense and profitable.

The time of their 20th anniversary comes and Warner releases a double DVD/CD which takes up the band’s potential at a 100%.

This is followed by what nobody could imagine; a tour in 2015 together with members of Savia and Skizoo to commemorate their 20th anniversary, doing three-hour shows recalling the band’s history in a chronological order. It is all a success!

In late October 2016 Sôber launches his new album "Vulcano":... They are hard, difficult and full of uncertainty times. Nature is wise and sometimes draws all its strength to end it all and start from scratch. Sometimes it is water, other wind, but when fire breaks out, the force is devastating ...

 Sôber back with that force, leaving his previous lethargy and come to us forcefully, strength, and the hypnotic cadence of a sea of lava ... VULCANO
