Soccer Babes is a three-man band based in Eugene, OR. Kevin McDonald (vocals & guitar) and Myles Field (drums) started the band in January of 2012, and Matt Harman (bass) joined in March of the same year. Their sound is excitingly unique, as they have coined it "agressive power pop." It is a mix of heavy instrumentals, loud vocals, blended with catchy melodies and raw emotion.
Although they have only been around for less than a year, Soccer Babes has already played shows in a variety of places, including out of state venues. Cities they have performed in are: Eugene, OR, Portland, OR, San Francisco, CA, Sacramento, CA, Santa Cruz, CA, Costa Mesa, CA, San Diego, CA, and Long Beach, CA. Their live performances are upbeat, energetic, and fun. The lead singer, Kevin, even mixes in a bit of dry, sarcastic humor in his delivery before each song. The guys exude energy and emotion in their live performances, and leave the audience members wanting more.
Soccer Babes has come out with two EPs. EP 1 came out in February of 2012, and EP 2 came out in June of 2012. They are currently working on their third EP, possibly called Fall EP (although the name has not been finalized). They are also booking more shows and are starting to collaborate with other bands.
Soccer Babes is young, but they are a force to be reckoned with, and making extreme headway in the indie rock scene.
