Inspired by "The Social Animal" by Elliot Aronson, Social Animal is exploring the patterns and motives of human behavior, whisling topics like love, peace, terrorism, war, politics, race relations and interpersonal attraction. A group of individuals with each their own history and musical experience through different stages of life.
Starting out in down-town Aalsmeer (Holland), Social Animal was founded in 2006 as follow up of M99, a well known brand in the regional indie rock scene. Their debut album, Sarcasm is Killing Me (2008), did generate some positive response in Magazines like FRET & Music Maker. The band did a lot of gigs, most noticeable the support of INTWINE at P60 and live sessions at 3FM and KINK FM. Currently in the making of the second CD, the band's latest rehearsal recordings merges Stan Lee's disaffected lyrical styling with sometimes harmony driven, sometimes punk-tinged guitars to slap together another collection of indie rock-inspired creations, resembling the sound of their musical heroes. With stand out tracks like "Superfly" and "sadderday", don't be surprised to hear Social Animal on your radio again soon.
