Discography

I have released 3 albums and 1 EP. My first EP earned a Native American Music Award for best producer. The Native American Music Awards is sort of a people's choice award. I have been nominated once for Songwriter of the year, Female Artist of the year and best folk/country artist. I have some tracks loaded on my myspace. I also have some airplay though I don't really know the call letters of the stations. They are mostly in Canada and Alaska.

Bio

My music is quiet. That's what I'm told. I'm Native American so my first two albums were really geared towards the Native American Genre. But as I've continued to write, my songs are more country I think...more folky. My writing is influenced by Matraca Berg, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Griffin, John Hiatt...my performance/delivery is influenced by Patty Griffin. I really loved Fleetwoodmac growing up and still idolize Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham. Maybe more now than when I was little. I started writing about 10-12 years ago. I took guitar lessons from Jay Turnbow. He mentored me into becoming a writer I think...because before I met Jay...I never really considered songwriting. The thing that sets me apart is that I'm a full-blooded Navajo woman doing what most navajo women aren't. I enjoy sharing my joys and sorrows in song...I love to sing and was blessed with a voice that makes sharing my songs easy. I grew up on the Navajo reservation and could sing about all the Indian movement travesties...but I choose to sing about life. Just life...as I've known it...I've been married, been divorced, truly been in love, truly lost, truly been hurt, been truly happy...experienced motherhood, and so many of lifes highs and lows....and that's what I write about....that's what I share. Nothing more, nothing less.
