Bio

Much more than a band, Society’s Dogs has become a phenomenon. One listen to their debut CD “Up All Night” and you’ll know why. What person is ever born without the right to become somebody? Inspired by the dogs of society who scratch their way through life, the band has united in song and dance to rise up the souls of those who have been down. Tune in, turn up the volume and celebrate.

The band…
Mike LeFande and Bill Mansfield have collaborated on writing words and music for the past decade. The genre is rock-n-roll. The approach is fresh and inspiring. With long-time friends and fellow musicians from Long Island, the band Society’s Dogs was formed in the spring of 2000. As a rookie band, Society’s Dogs was a heavy underdog when joining the Long Island Music festival that summer. In a battle-of-the-bands format, Society’s Dogs made top billing through several rounds of performances and came in as a ‘runner-up’ to the winning band. Society’s Dogs was one of only eight bands (from the original 200) to play to a packed house at the final venue.

Encouraged by this early success and the scores of fans asking for a copy of their original songs, Society’s Dogs went into the recording studio and produced their first CD album “Up All Night”. Current band members include Mike LeFande (vocals, sax, acoustic), Bill Mansfield (rhythm and lead guitar), Charlie Sterbini (lead guitar and harmony vocals) and John Logerfo (bass). Special thanks for performances on the album go to John Maginn (harmony vocals), Brian Rodney (bass), Jimmy “Stixxs” Terracciano (drums), Kevin Kimmel (drums), and Robert Epstein (keyboards). Studio engineers Mike Epstein (Dare Studios) and Gerry Comito (Sonic Sound Studios) played a key role as well in helping to record and mix the album.

The album…
“Up All Night is a compilation of ten original songs. Copyright was obtained in 2004. The style of the music ranges from hard-core rock-n-roll on the feisty “Play the Game”, “Outlaw”, “The House is on Fire”, and “Hiding Away” to the country/ folksy sound of “Cherry Wine” and “Home Again” to the ballad-like “Raise the Roof” and “I Hope You Know”, the pop/dance sound of “Jealousy”, and the emotional cry of the band’s theme song “Society’s Dogs”.

Society’s Dogs will become a force in society as they reach out to fans across the world through live performances and future recordings. You will hear the band on radio stations and the Internet.
