Fragile and overwhelming
It is almost too obvious to compare Soffie to Bjork and Under Byen, but it is also necessary to add that Soffie leaves out the over exaggerated.
Understated feminine pop with tiny percussion sounds, tons of space and a fragile voice placed very up front in the mix.
It is a bunch of pretty sounds Soffie has collected in a fine balance between notes and effects but she never loses the focus of the songs.
The demo is very professionally mixed, and even though I probably would have put the vocals lower in the mix, it is such a small detail on a very beautiful demo, that carries an imprint of thorough and meticulous work layers on layers of details.
Tiny finger movements lift the fine songs out of the speakers, best supportet in the songs where there’s really no drums, but sounds and glitchy percussion.
Beautiful delicate and girly.
A song like Polar Bear is exactly as ice-cold, lonely and midnight blue as only a Scandinavian artist can do it.
I hope she can maintain the magic at Lades September 11th and at Oure the 24 th.

Soffie Viemose is a Danish singer and electronic artist.
Her music has a strong Nordic sound, and you can draw icy and and crackling lines between her and other Nordic artists such as Bjørk and Sigur Ros.
At concerts she perfoms only with her laptop and with the Danish drummer Victor Dybbroe.
Victor is a Copenhagen-based percussionist and drummer, he has played a diverse amount of genres, such as Jazz, Afro beat, and Electronica,
Together they create a simple yet overwhelming sound and as an audience you get drawn into the intense and vulnerable electronic universe supported by Soffie’s melancholic voice and lyrics.
