"Frankfurter Messe Presse"

Sofia Tsola sings head down in breathtaking heights - but
the only ones left breathless are the audience. - Holger Vonhof

"Das ist los HNA"

This lady sings while doing gymnastics and does
gymnastics while singing - both with
a technical perfection that is stunning.
- *

"Basler Zeitung"

Sofia Tsola is not only a convincing trapeze artist, but
also a convincing singer.
- Raphael Suter

"Mannheimer Morgen"

On the trapeze she is the queen: Sofia Tsola combines
song and acrobatics in a breath
taking / gipping performance.
- Christine Maisch – Straub

"Rein-Neckar-Zeitung"

Sofia Tsola, is not only doing acrobatics on the trapeze
but also sings whilst doing so. Unbelieveable !
- Ingrid Thoms – Hoffmann

"Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung"

Sofia Tsola supports and enriches the Swing rhythms of
the Conny-Scheffel-Combo with her smokey voice. Her
deep voice contrasts with the heights she reaches on her
trapeze, and she pauses in extreme positions on the rope
as easily as a nightclub singer on the piano. - Jurgen Richter

Discography

Determined to truly express herself through music and art Sofia flew to London where she collaborated with producer KK at Stephen Budd Management, (known for their work with leading artists (www.recordproducers.com) and Mike Allison at ACM Productions to develop her own songs and sound. The resulting 2 tracks, ‘Sophisticated Girl’ and ‘Sexy’, which Sofia co-wrote, were created especially for performance on the trapeze and reflect the paradox that is Sofia Tsola.
As her lyrics claim, ‘what you see is not what you get,’ multitalented, multifaceted and multicultural, in turn toxic and tantalizing Sofia Tsola promises to confuse you and leave you wanting more.

Bio

Born to perform, and not afraid to follow her dreams, as a young teenager, Sofia Tsola left her home and family to ‘run away with the circus’ and swing on trapeze.
Driven to perfect her art and develop her own unique style, she quit 2 years later to train at Europe’s most prestigious acrobatic school, Annie Fratellini, in Paris. There she specialized in static choreographic trapeze, working as an au pair to pay for her classes.

Her resulting technique and impassioned, provocative style appealed to a variety of audiences and resulted in performances worldwide, including The Edinburgh and Avignon Festivals and World Cup 1998. In 1999 Sofia was voted the best aerial act in Great Britain.

It was while performing onstage alongside singers and musicians that she realised the potential to sing on trapeze. Concert goers, expecting and accustomed to impressive light shows and choreography, couldn’t take their eyes off Sofia!

Coached in music and voice by Richard Cross, François Valade at the Studio Des Varietes in Paris, and Gillyanne Kayes in London, Sofia tested her theory to huge success by singing old standard covers in variety theatres throughout Europe, and by invitation at the Olympische Ballnacht in Wiesbaden, and the Bundespresseball in Berlin.

The combination of her rich voice with its deep, sultry tones and her accompanying aerial performance intrigued and mesmerized her audiences.

Originally Greek, Sofia has lived in Italy, currently resides in France and frequently performs in Germany and worldwide. She speaks four languages fluently. She has been exposed to a wide range of experiences, environments and people in her show business career so far, and as a result is versatile in mind, body and spirit.
In true Cinderella style Sofia washed floors, sold ice cream and minded children to fund her dreams, but it is her vision, business acumen, talent and energy that have enabled her to make the successful transition from the circus and shine in the world of performance art.
She is now ready to push the boundaries further and is dedicated to bringing her striking voice and innovative performance style to the mainstream commercial music industry.

“The trapeze is an impressive visual aid that commands attention and I am the only singer in the world capable of using it during live performances!” – Sofia Tsola
