"This Little Underground"

Orlando Weekly Review 10-1-08

"Also on the bill (and also good) was local band So Help Me Rifle. Their music conjures the esteemed '90's indie-rock sound of Chapel Hill, particularly in the way they ply angularity into facile melodies. Add 'em to your list." Bao Le-Huu, The Orlando Weekly Sept. 4-10. 2008. - The Orlando Weekly

"Orlando Weekly, Jan. 29 - Feb.4, 2009"

A really good show by So Help Me Rifle – when they’re clicking on all cylinders – is like a hidden porn stash: It can be cherished and nurtured, growing into a magical cornucopia of wonderment, but if word gets out, it can be taken away and made cheap in the blink of an eye. The secret magic lies in not talking about it too much. So the Orlando pop act’s increasingly popular and raucous concerts are just a little disconcerting. To wit, their recent wall-to-wall, top-of-the-lungs outing at Will’s Pub for Tooth’s Mustache Birthday Bash was bittersweet in its success, the band members stumbling out to their equipment van covered in sweat and entertaining accolades as they walked into Orlando’s musical consciousness, one part Superchunk and another part a radio-friendly engineer’s dream. They’re not under the bed anymore.

"Metromix Orlando"

Local indie pop band So Help Me Rifle will help you get down with their catchy sing-along worthy tunes. These guys are good, really good, so make sure and see them before some record executive snatches them up. They have a fun, accessible sound like Death Cab for Cutie, but they can also rock it out live, leaving them staggering back to their equipment van covered in sweat and ready for the next gig.
