"HOLLYWOOD BAND MAG"

"Finally a band that sounds like they are from Seattle perhaps even Dublin but they are from California!" - Hollywood Band Mag

"Underground Beat Magazine"

“Solarcade is the answer to the UK’s Radiohead and Ireland’s U2!”...“One of the best and most mesmerizing bands I have heard over the last decade.” - Underground Beat Magazine

"Antimusic Reporter"

“Van embodies the best elements of Scott Weiland and Bowie as well as Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan.” - Antimusic Reporter

"Pulse Weekly"

“If you took the dramatic elements of Radiohead, mixed them with the darker elements of Depeche Mode and topped it all off with some David Bowie, you’d have a pretty clear idea of what Solarcade is.” - Pulse Weekly

Bio

Known for their unique sound, infectious hooks, and honest lyrics, LA-based Solarcade mixes alternative rock with a strong pop foundation. Over the past year and a half, Solarcade has garnered a cult-like following, due largely to the band’s ability to create music that leaves the listener humming their melodies for weeks. Solarcade’s stage presence is undeniable. Visually, they produce high energy with an uncompromising need to fully entertain and leave the audience always wanting more.

Solarcade formed in Los Angeles after Heath Cooley found Pomilla in a local music magazine. The two quickly began collaborating songs together, staying aware of the vocal and melody placement yet to come. After constructing five instrumentals, Cooley and Pomilla began searching for the right blend of vocals. They wanted a front man with the zeal of Bowie and the swagger of Dave Gahan. After screening and auditioning eighty-seven vocalists (yes - that's 87), they finally came upon Paul Van. He not only captures elements of the two artists, but also has the earnest warmth necessary to make the listener really feel the song. Bass player Melanie Dupre was brought into the mix in June 2005. With a background rich in music education and performance, Melanie effortlessly rounds out the rhythm section of the band. She possesses a vast knowledge of the industry, and her passion for performing makes Melanie a perfect fit for Solarcade.

On March 15, 2005, Solarcade released their debut album, Aliens & Angels. They have played a variety of venues, large and small, and have also been featured on the Howard Stern Show, several live radio and television appearances, in-store performances at Tower Records, and held the top spot on New Artist Radio's Top 40 with “When She Comes.”

2006 will see Solarcade releasing another EP which will include a rockin' cover of U2's "All I Want Is You." The band continues to take the music world by storm by providing their fans with intellect and empathy through haunting lyrics and steadfast compositions. Together, Solarcade’s members break down all barriers of genre and simply create music for the masses.
