"Sol Ardour + A Man, a Wave + Fuctiphino and more"

Local outfit Sol Ardour does way-over-the-top melodic prog-metal—crammed with flash and bombast yet stubbornly catchy and undeniably affecting. These guys are clearly scaling their material for stadiums, so it should be a trip to hear them in a club setting. - Time Out New York

Bio

SOL ARDOUR is a rock band from New York City. They create and perform on the concepts of progression, bravery, and the future. And as Time Out New York says, they do it with “stubbornly catchy and undeniably affecting… flash and bombast”.

The group is currently working to produce their debut album, Et Nexus to Utopia: 16 songs telling the story of a generation, nearing the edge of the world, as they know it.   Et Nexus to Utopia brings these stories to life through progressive rock, metal, pop, and electronic music – as well as a variety of illustrations, music videos, and live performances. All of which, call upon the strength of human will and ingenuity to meet their overwhelming challenges.  The album will see a summer release, following two new singles Devil Maykher, and Never Look Back. Touring, and local media coverage on the east coast, are planned to kick off the albums launch.

SOL ARDOUR began activities in 2010, founded by Artemis (g), Shola (v) and Sion (d).  Xuya (b) and Topeng (g) would join in 2013. While in college, Shola (who’d been looking to form a band) saw Sion wearing a t-shirt that read, “Got Drums?” and the two joined forces. Sion grew up playing with his family, for their church.  Shola discovered his love of singing, early on – involving himself with musical theater and acting. They met Artemis via the Internet. He’d been in several bands, and solo music projects for years and was just about done with music.  However, Shola and Sions sheer exuberance and raw talent, brought him into the fray for a final venture.  Musically they bonded over a shared love of video game soundtracks, and rock music.  Shola and Artemis grew up listening mostly to Japanese “Visual Kei” rock bands – while Sion grew up with his dad’s collection, of classic rock and metal bands.

Inspire the world, the way it inspired us”, was the theme the band agreed upon. Their message would be loud and clear:  Be brave, be honest, fight for a better future, and if you’re in the way – be prepared for the revolution.  They’d use any genre necessary to effectively deliver their messages.  For aggressive messages, they spoke through metal, with abrasive lyrics.  For uplifting messages, they chose pop rock, or electronic music, with fun, or motivational lyrics. But each song, regardless of differences, shared a feeling of momentum, forecasting an ever-growing event. This would be their strategy: to create music, art and performances to reach different people. The constant would be, the spirit of ambient intensity and imminence.

With the release of Et Nexus to Utopia, SOL ARDOUR aim to change the way people feel about music and bands in 2015.  Their epic brand of performances, progressive and variant music, honest songwriting, and futuristic visual style have excited everyone who has experienced them thus far. Et Nexus to Utopia, will only mark the beginning of SOL ARDOURs campaign, that will captivate and inspire artists and industry alike.  “Some bands want to be the next big thing, or save rock and roll.  We want to save the world.” - Artemis
