What do you get when you mix rock solid bass and drums with sweet guitar riffs and lyrics that actually mean something? Music so good you can feel it in your "Solar Plexus"!

Biography

Solar Plexus is a new Reggae/Rock band with a sound that people already love. Consisting of five members in their early 20’s from Ohio, New York, & Maine, Solar Plexus formed in NYC in January 2004. Off to a quick start the group has already played in many small clubs and has earned a loyal fan base in the area. The members of this group are also experienced recording musicians and are familiar with professional recording studios.

The Brain – Lead vocalist & rhythm guitar player Keith McCabe minds the bands every move. As directional leader of Solar Plexus and president of McCabe Bros. Music (MBM), he guides the band with his knowledge of the business and Leo instinct. Providing the group with loveable melodies and meaningful songwriting that has become rare in today’s songwriters, Keith is always coming up with new ideas and turning new stones.

The Soul – Lead guitar player & vocalist Mark McCabe provides the music with great feeling. With moving solo’s that take you there and back Mark adds deep emotion, taking the band to another level. Mark also is a talented songwriter and always puts on a stunning performance live. “You hear the guitar play and you want to stay”! If Mark can’t say it, he can play it.

The Heart – Bass player Levi Huston keeps the heart of Solar Plexus pumping with driving bass lines that never fail to get the crowd moving. 24 years young from Brian Ohio, Levi has been a crucial member in forming the group Solar Plexus. Meeting the McCabe Bros. in November 2000 at a recording school in Ohio seemed to be destiny. In March 2002 the three reunited in NYC to form the band that has now become Solar Plexus. Every song is just another great bass line for Levi and when he takes the stage, you don’t have to bend an ear.

The Backbone – Drummer Amol “Animal” Sogal holds the group together. With his enthusiastic approach and discipline the band stays on time be it music or meetings. At 24 years young from Cleveland Ohio, Amol headed out to the big apple to put his skills to the test. When he found Solar Plexus in need of a drummer no words needed to be said, just music to be played.

The Lungs – On keys Keith Reynolds “Mr. Reynolds” gives the group a chance to breath with his perfectly timed solos and rhythmic melodies. 21 years young from Maine, Mr. Reynolds came to NY with an arsenal of talent. A classically trained musician with a strong expertise in jazz, he always comes to play. Also skilled on the flute and saxophone, Mr. Reynolds puts the icing on the Solar Plexus cake.

Lyrics

Goin' Down

Written By: Keith P. McCabe

TO THE GOVERNMENT OF U.S.A.
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU IN YOUR GRAVE
I’M NOT TRYIN’ TO HATE BUT
FREEDOM’S SOMETHING I WOULD APPRECIATE

LIVIN’ IN THE GARDEN STATE
SOMETHING TELLS ME I’M TOO LATE
THERE’S MORE POLUTION HERE
THEN FROM P.A. CLEAR TO THE GOLDEN GATE

IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
AND I DON’T WANT TO BE ANOTHER MIND IT BREAKS
IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
I’M NOT GONNA BE ANOTHER LIFE IT TAKES

I WORK NIGHTS FOR A VAMPIRE
HE’S BEEN KNOWN TO SPEAK FIRE
I’M MANUFACTURING DESIRE
NEGOTIATIONS WITH DREAMHIRE

AND WITH THE TENDENCY TO INSPIRE
I’M BURNING THROUGH THIS EMPIRE
I’VE BEEN ON THE WIRE
WORKING ON A DEAL FOR JEHOVAH’S CHOIR

AND IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
AND I DON’T WANT TO BE ANOTHER MIND IT BREAKS
IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
I’M NOT GONNA BE ANOTHER LIFE IT TAKES

RIDING ON THE MIDNIGHT TRAIN
EVERYONE IS LOOKING STRANGE
DOWN AT JOURNAL SQUARE
I SWEAR THERE’S COPS ON COCAIN

THIRTY SECOND TO FOURTY EIGHTH
KINDA FAR TO WALK THAT LATE
BUT THE M.T.A.
IS CHARGING FARES THAT BORDER RAPE

AND IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
AND I DON’T WANT TO BE ANOTHER MIND IT BREAKS
IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
I’M NOT GONNA BE ANOTHER LIFE IT TAKES

THEY GOT THE PRESIDENT ON TELE-PRISON
TALKIN’ BOUT HIS LATEST VISION
HE MADE A BIG DECISION
AND HE’S BACKING DOWN UNDER NO CONDITION

TAKE A LOOK AT THE OPPOSITION
THEY’RE RUNNING OUT OF AMMUNITION
TELL ME WHEN DID OIL
FILE UNDER WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION

IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
I DON’T WANT TO BE ANOTHER MIND IT BREAKS
IT’S GOIN DOWN
I’M NOT GONNA BE ANOTHER LIFE IT TAKES

IT TAKES A LOT OF DEDICATION
LEADING A COUNTRY TO THEIR SALVATION
IT’S NOT OUR REPUTATION
TO LEAVE A WEALTHY LAND IN ISOLATION

TAKE A LOOK AT THE SITUATION
LOOKING PAST THE DECORATION
I WAS BORN AMERICAN
AND WE DON’T EVEN HAVE LIBERATION

IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
AND I DON’T WANT TO BE ANOTHER MIND IT BREAKS
IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
I’M NOT GONNA BE ANOTHER LIFE IT TAKES

WHEN ARE PEOPLE GONNA LEARN TO LOVE
FORGET ABOUT WHAT THEIR THINGING OF
WHEN PUSH COMES TO SHOVE
IT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER WHAT’S UP ABOVE

DOESN’T MATTER WHAT’S DOWN BELOW
SOME PEOPLE LIVE TO NEVER KNOW
AND THEY DIE IN PEACE
AND IT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER WHERE THEY GO

IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
AND I DON’T WANT TO BE ANOTHER MIND IT BREAKS
IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
I’M NOT GONNA BE ANOTHER LIFE IT TAKES

Play It Away

Written By: Keith P. McCabe

PACK UP YOUR BAGS YOU JUST CAN’T STAY
AND I NEVER LIKED YOU MUCH ANYWAY
I GOT MY AMPLIFIER GOT MY GUITAR
AND ALL I GOT TO DO IS PLAY

PLAY ALL THE EVILNESS AWAY
CHANT ALL THE WICKEDNESS AWAY
TO OVERSTAND IS TO OVERCOME I SAY
AND PLAY ALL THE EVILNESS AWAY

YOU TRY COME ‘ROUND ON A RAINY DAY
BUT I SAW YOU COMING FROM A MILE AWAY
AND JUST TO SHOW YOU I’M NOT AFRAID
I SIT DOWN AND STARTED TO PLAY

PLAY ALL THE EVILNESS AWAY
CHANT ALL THE WICKEDNESS AWAY
I GOT SOMETHING YOU JUST CAN’T TAKE AWAY
AND ALL I GOT TO DO IS PLAY

WE WORK SO HARD JUST TO FIND A WAY
WE COME SO FAR TO MAKE IT HERE TODAY
WE BROUGHT SOME GIFTS YEAH BUT WE CANNOT STAY
WE JUST BROUGHT THEM HERE TO PLAY

PLAY ALL THE EVILNESS AWAY
CHANT ALL THE WICKEDNESS AWAY
JAH WILL HELP THOSE WHO HELP THEIRSELVES I SAY
PLAY ALL THE EVILNESS AWAY

J.F.K. IN THE LIGHT OF DAY
HIS BROTHER BOB HAD A PRICE TO PAY
AND LITTLE JUNIOR WENT DOWN ON A PRIVATE PLANE
THEY HAD A LOT TO SAY BUT THEY COULDN’T PLAY

PLAY ALL THE EVILNESS AWAY
CHANT ALL THE WICKEDNESS AWAY
RASTA DON’T WORK FOR NO C.I.A.
ALL WE GOT TO DO IS PLAY

Written By: Keith P. McCabe

YOU’LL NEVER MAKE IT BY WORKING THAT NINE TO FIVE
AND GO UP TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE
IT DOESN’T WORK THAT WAY REMEMBER WHAT I SAY
WHEN YOU’RE ENJOYING YOUR STAY YEAH

I WORK FOR JAH NOT FOR MAN
FULL BENEFITS INSURANCE PLAN
FLEXIBLE HOURS SUPPLY AND DEMAND
I WORK FOR JAH

PLAYIN’ THE BAND PLAYIN’ THE BAND
PLAYIN’ THE BAND PLAYIN’ THE BAND LORD

IT’S ALL A PLAN YOU SEE I JUST CAN’T LET IT BE
AND ACT AS IF I JUST DON’T SEE
A DIFFERENT PLACE EACH DAY WITH DIFFERENT WAYS TO SAY
YOU GOT TO LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES
YOU’LL NEVER MAKE IT BY WORKING THAT ONE TO NINE
AND GO UP TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE
IT DOESN’T WORK THAT WAY SO REMEMBER WHAT I SAY
