SOUL JAMS... Hendrix joins The Meters for an inspiring small combo adaption of epic Earth, Wind, and Fire harmony through original compositions reminiscent of Stevie Wonder and Prince. Justin Street grew up with Eminem's brother, and translated that disparity through his soulful playing and lyrics.

Biography

Justin Street is the baddest funky guitar demi-god on the planet. If you haven't heard of him, it is only because he is Detroit's best kept secret. Justin isn't a throw back, he is an original. There is no one quite like him, and certainly nothing like his music available on any record at present. Justin wastes no breath with his words; his lyrics are constructed as messages for positive change. He is an anomaly in our digital age.

Justin hails from the rough streets of Detroit, MI. You can hear it in his playing. He grew up with Eminem's brother in the shadows of Motown.

After gigging extensively in Boston for three years, Justin Street and guitarist Jamie Garry decided it was time to solidify a line up and cut a record to meet demands of the developed fan base.

The band will be moving to Cincinnati, OH for the summer of 2012, to expand their fan base and influence. A couple of influential local Cincinnati musicians have already taken note of Justin Street, and eagerly await the band's arrival to the local scene. (Members of Wussy, Afghan Whigs, The Cla-Zels, and Fists of Love)

Lyrics

Lonely King

Written By: Justin Street

The lonely king sits quietly calm, watching life from in his thrown. The world to him a world to own, yet still others don't have a home. Easy living sitting still / then one day above the hill / the clouds took shape and light had filled the souls of whom the king had killed / and the wind carried voice and said:

"Halt! You're reign shall end. You can fight if you like, but that won't bring you friends. Come along with me and you shall see, the power of love floating free. End this at last! Oh, complete the task."

The King confused, emotions bruised, wonders what he has to lose. Staring at the souls that he once used, instead he finds himself amused. The wind knows now of the king's fate, if he should choose to close the gate. We gave him time / the love is late / instead he breeds a world of hate. And the souls above screamed:

"Halt! You're reign shall end. You can fight if you like, but that won't bring you friends. Come along with me and you shall see, the power of love floating free. End this at last! Complete the task."

The souls await the quiet night, knowing when the time was right. The plan soon changed when his thrown shot light, his soul rising up out of wounds from a knife. Now a soul, he spreads the word.
