Bio

While not a band in the traditional sense of the word, rapper Sole Profit and producer Jay.Soul have been collaborating via internet for a number of years now. Sole Profit has been making waves independently for some time and landed a demo deal with Sony BMG in New York by winning the National "Hip-Hop Supastar" competition in 2005 (sponsored by Cingular, Sony/BMG etc. and hosted by Xzibit). Due to label poplitics the deal fell through and Sole Profit successfully released his second album together with group The K.E.Y. in 2007 called "Children Of The Corn". A hugely talented songwriter, musician, lyricist and performer, Sole Profit has everything to make it big. Producer Jay.Soul (aka The Groove Architect) has been making his mark for years in the Dutch music scene as well. He worked with Amsterdam soul singer Corey for some years, resulting in among other things winning Holland's most prestigious band competition "Dutch Grand Prize" in 2002 and the independent release of the widely praised neo soul album "Movin' On" (It Won't Stop, 2006). He made an official remix for Michael Franti & Spearhead's 2003 single 'Sometimes" and his music from various projects has been licensed to a number of international films and tv shows (including How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, Tru Calling, Without A Trace, MTV Road Rules etc|). With classic 80's and 90's hip-hop as his main sonic influence, Jay.Soul's music stretches various genres, ranging from jazzy deep house and funky electronica to pure hip-hop and organic neo soul.
