Bio

At the end of 2005, Soley Mourning finally reached their unique line up when local band "Fallen" invited Mat Partridge and Dattani from blues rockers "Lazlow" into the fold, creating a new band. The guitar work of Tony Chambers and Andy Guest combined with the powerful, driving drums of Chris Smith provided a sound and shared vision with Mat and Datanni. Since then, Soley Mourning have spent their time crafting a catalogue of stunning rock tracks and have created a savage, hi energy live show.

At their early live shows, the band regularly handed out free copies of their E.P.'s that were recorded and produced wholly within the band along with self produced videos and DVD's. The band, for the time, existed without a record label.

[edit] Mambo County
In 2006 the band signed to Casket Records to release their debut album "Mambo County" bringing together a great mix of both melodic and powerful driving rock songs. The band spent 3 weeks recording at Madhat Studios in Coven UK with Mark Stuart and Sheena Sear at the helm. The videos to "Easylife" "Wake up Callin'" "Go" and a short film of them recordin in the studio was released on the bands first DVD "Soley Mourning - The Videos" on the 5th of April 2010.

[edit] Live @ The Brewhouse
The band put out a live album on their own Saltdog Label, Recorded at the Brewhouse venue in Germany. The album contains the only recordings known to exist from the tour that followed "Mambo County". The album included cover versions of Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild" Free's "Wishing Well" and Dylans "All along the Watchtower". 2 songs from the forth coming "Remove Replace Rewire" were also found on this album, "Crosses to Bare" and the crowd favourite "Gas Pedal Screamin'" were a glimpse of the future release.

[edit] Remove Replace Rewire
Early 2009 bought the release of Soley Mourning's latest album. Recorded again at Madhat studios in Coven the band delved into a harder sound. Tracks like "Bridges Gonna Burn" and "Gas Pedal Screamin'" showed a more hard edge approach from the Ballads of Mambo County. This however would be the last album drummer Chris Smith would play on.

No videos were released from Remove Replace Rewire as the band chose to take time out to find a new drummer and prepare for the up and coming tours.

March 2009 saw Ashley Garbett take up drumming dutes for a hand full of gigs but would later join the band permanently. The album was followed by a European tour supporting Brit Rockers "Magnum" and American sleaze rock outfit "Faster Pussycat".
