Formed in the summer of 2005, Solid Six is a four piece modern rock band based out of Cincinnati, OH. Their music is a blend of heavy driving riffs (Disturbed; Godsmack) combined with strong vocal melodies (Three Days Grace; Breaking Benjamin; Sevendust) and dark and provocative lyrics (Dave Matthews; Mudvayne). The enigmatic rhythm section featuring Matt Howd (Drums, Percussion) and Mike Thompson (Bass) provides the foundation for the group's dynamic crushing breakdowns and Jeff Thompson (Vocals, Guitar) and Zak Hoffman (Guitar, Vocals) layer the powerful rhythms with tight riffs and versatile harmonies. Solid Six has been called upon to support such acts as Ligion, American Bang, Beneath The Sky, as well as a performance at Riverfest 2008, Cincinnati’s largest single day event.
Influenced by a wide range of styles from Dave Matthews to Pantera, Solid Six's music has an intensity that is definitive of their live performances, while providing an allure that appeals to listeners across several genres.
