Solomon Willy is a Durban, South Africa based
Musician, Guitarist, Composer and a Bandleader

He is extremely versatile and Professional to the core, Solomon Willy work with a Team with vast
Experience from playing at various Jazz Festivals,
Corporate Functions and good Academic background.
Solomon was exposed to Music at a very early stage,
started as a member of Children Church Choir, at a later
stage he studied Guitar at UKZN School of Music under
the direction of Demi Fernandez. He formed his Band in
2009, most exciting thing about the Band is that it offers
original composition and extensive mix of popular
tasteful African Music and Jazz standard hits, Willy front
lead with Jazz Guitar styling’s and warm; smooth vocals
to perfectly add more than a little class to any Event

The Multi-talented line-up includes two to class vocal as well as Guitar, Bass, Drums & Keys.

His Music Career took Center stage when he was selected in a Talent Search Audition at the
Durban SABC to perform at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Fan Festival stages in Durban, the Judges
Were Neil Comfort and Malcolm Nhleko, they were blown away by his performance and gave him
More Platform as a new Talent.

One of the exciting Solomon’s achievements is that he received an Award from Department of Arts
and Culture, KwaZulu-Natal Eastern Region for Band Search in 2011 that was held at the Pavilion
Durban. He has performed throughout Nigeria, South Africa and Australia with key change Music
Project; he performed in a Band backing a Tour by South African Zulu Choir.

Some of the most exciting moments of his Career was when he was performing at the annual Durban Jazz
Festival, UGU Jazz Festivals, 2010 World Cup Celebration and many others. 

Solomon Influences include: Norman Brown, Fela Kuti, Salif Keita, Tony Grey, Femi Ki George Benson, Santana, Mike Okri, Victor Wiafo, Angelique Kidjo, Oliver Mtukudzi, Rex Jim
Lawson and many more. 

Solomon Willy has worked in the Music Industry with great Musicians doing both Studio recording
Sessions, Live Television, Live stage recordings and Live performances in Corporate Events,
Jazz Festivals, Jazz Centre’s, Gospel Music Concerts etc, and he has Guitar played with South
African greats and emerging Artists alike, both in Gospel and Circular Music such as:
