Bio

Born in Washington, DC SoLo SouLja has been deeply immersed in diversity and culture since birth. Influences ranged from James Brown, NWA, and Ice-T in the era of the walkman, but now includes Scarface, Tupac, Barry White, Maxwell and Erykah Badu gracing his MP3 player. Those names describe artists who have influenced his chosen career path of music, but noone influences SoLo like God. Inspiration that is surely accredited. Focusing on truths inspired by realities such as homicide, drug rings, and other illegal activities, SoLo passionately illustrates how anyone determined and focused can make the best of any situation that isn't ideal to the average person.

Writing since the age of twelve SoLo has always had the nact for distinctive wordplay. "My grandmother used to make me do book reports on my summer break, and even though I hated it then, I appreciate the ability to communicate effectively with literature." "My mother played the piano at her fathers church, the sound of her fingers gently stroking the keys always filled me with a certain childlike rhapsody," recalls SoLo.
Spilling over into his career now, church has taught SoLo that all cultures and diversities are ultimately connected through the power of music.

Performing at local night clubs and sponsored events has worked wonders for the fan base SoLo is building. Nightclubs include The Safari Steakhouse & Republic Gardens, other events such as Bowie State University's Apollo show & Howard University's Apollo show give SoLo the opportunity to give away as many Demo Discs as possible, with numbers topping 200,000 free copies given out.

After high school SoLo enrolled into Bowie State University where he began to cultivate his love for music even more persistently. Recording at his home studio, SoLo released his first demo "Authenticity Mixtape Business", and is currently promoting other upcoming demos and singles.

The heavens are the limit for SoLo. Often with little to no money and bills from here to his record deal, SoLo continues to hustle fans with free discs and bombard local spots with new music.
