"SOMBA releases Abbey Roça at Francisco Nunes Theater"

... The group style has a lot of humour and a psychodelic feeling, mixing influences from Beatles to Mutantes, passing through tropicalia...those references are explicity in the Somba’s sound fusion. - Estado de Minas

"Cuma?"

The good humour way appears right here in ‘Dedetização Nacional’, the openning song. And it’s repeated and sprayed again in the others 12 songs, in a quite different ways. And, what’s surprising, the sense of homogeinity in “Cuma?” is not this humour vein, but good pop songs. This is the true filling offered by the band. - Alto-Falante (TV Show)

Bio

It's a brazilian jam band, that started in 1998. The band released 4 albuns: a single "Abbey Roa" (2000), a full-CD "Clube da Esquina dos Aflitos" (2003), a full-CD "Cuma?" (2007) and a virtual CD "Aos vivos do Stonehenge" (2010). Actually, the band is releasing the album "Homnimo",  in CD, Vinyl and MP3.

The proposal of the band is rock/jamband with a brazilian accent, in all forms, with several influences, such as Pop, classic and psychodelic rock. The band also mixes it all with a strong poetical feeling and with a good humour spice. In this way, it became a brazilian jamband, what gives a lot of vivacity at the live performances.

In Brazil, they made a lot of openning shows to great brazilian artists, such as Tom Z, Ed Motta, Toninho Horta, Los Hermanos, Cssia Eller, etc. In 2009, they started their international focus playing at SXSW Music Conference 2009, in Austin, Texas.
