Feeling a bit camera shy

SOMBER have the intensity of Atreyu, melodic sensibility of My Chemical Romance and a vision all of their own.
Formed in Chicago, Tommy Grajeda (vocals, guitar), Paul Kostanski (bass) and Robert Warren (drums) have a maturity unusual of a band still growing as songwriters and musicians. Coupled with the precision and intensity of their live show, SOMBER stand out in a genre that has otherwise grown stale with repetition.

SOMBER encompasses passion and initiative with essential talent to bring these energies to the stage. Robert and Paul provide the backbone for the intensity that is SOMBER. Interesting, focused, powerful and hard-hitting; they are the catalyst for the explosion that occurs when these three friends perform. At times it is nearly impossible to differentiate the shimmering, clean and distorted guitar work of Tommy from his vocals, instantly captivating the listener with the harmony and power of the music. Tommy's powerful melodic singing and gut wrenching screaming are, as stated by Kevin Pang of the Chicago Tribune, "vengeful and emphatic, cutting through the room like shrapnel." Together this three-piece form a cohesive, powerful unit that intends to give back to the musical community some of the genuineness and inspiration that it once gave them.

On their latest effort, "Mascara Tears", SOMBER was able to capture a sound that truly brings forth the band's rousing originality and exuberance. The sharp vocal deliveries upon thick, driving guitars, weaving in and out of precise and thundering drums prove SOMBER are a thoroughly uncompromising band with much promise.
