Bio

Dagberto Perez Acevedo, better known as “Shadow,” began his first musical steps in the town of Aguada, Puerto Rico when he was a young boy. He dabbled in various bands in the area, highlighted by the tropical rhythms like Salsa and Merengue.
American University was part of the popular music workshop of the Department of Music, where Shadow sang for several years and met many young players who stepped into the profession of music. Among them, highlight Edwin Luciano, highly talented pianist and new director of Domingo Quinones; and Pablito Padin, spectacular drummer and now drummer of Gilberto Santa Rosa.
Shadow then shared and sang with Master Willie Rosario and his orchestra. On several occasions, he performed with Orquesta Impacto CREA from Mayaguez. CREA is a rehabilitation center for drug addicts and alcoholics. It was confirmed that the theory of music can be one of the methods of rehabilitation, a personal use outside the institution to help fellow Hogares CREA. “I am very proud to have formed part of this initiative and have been able to bring some of my talents to help young people in the household.”
He was part of Grupo Aventura Jibara, Aguadilla. This group recorded an album of Tipica music that was sounded on radio stations in Puerto Rico. Simultaneously, Shadow was part of the Group Illusion of Aguada where he participated for several years.
Now, Shadow performs solo around Puerto Rico. He focuses his talents on romantic music, but indulges in a variety of genres. He hopes to pursue travels around the United States and other countries, sharing his music with other people and cultures.
