"Personal Problems In Public Places"

The five tracks on this EP show the band is certainly skilled at writing pop songs. At times the lifting pop melodies here remind me of Darrin Hayes' solo work, or Intuition. The first two tracks, though, show more of a electrofunk/disco influence, with both using a loping disco beat and 70's-era synth sounds. "I Won't Fall" and "Personal Problems In Public Places" are more modern flavored electronic pop songs, and, to me, the highlights of the EP. Smooth, very catchy and with a strong emotional punch, these tracks are both gems, and songs that will grab your attention. "Shipwreck" closes out this too-short EP with a haunting ballad that's simply beautiful.

Bio

Someone's Story rose from the ashes of two duos: the unfortunately named 'Elf' and the slightly less unfortunately named 'Mercy'. Having written with Paul Determan and Ben Gorske separately for several years, Aaron Nagler had the idea of putting all three budding songwriters together, forming Someone's Story. The band aspires to write great songs--not to be a flash-in-the-pan electronic act following the latest trend.

Someone's Story's song, "I Won't Fall", has seen some impressive initial response, starting with a placement on Ninthwave Records' Electricity III compilation. The song 'Mutiny' was released as a 12" single by Libra Rising Recordings in summer of 2007.
