Bio

#Somethingfromthemotherland also known as Designated Hustlers is a pan-African Hip hop Dual comprised of two Artists, Blaqpoint and Nkosana SixteenBars. The idea of the group came as a result of previous collaborations that were done by Nkosana and Blaqpoint.

#Somethingfromthemotherland was founded in September 2014 after the release of Cape to Cairo (mixtape)

BLAQPOINT In 2002 appeared on the debut single Amai vaLeopold, with the trio SKULL CRACKERS, the trio was hardly revolutionary, their music was based on the URBAN GROOVES era. A popular Zimbabwean style of music for mostly the youth. Amai vaLeopold, which translates to ‘Leopold’s mother’ rocked the POWER F.M ,Hitsville top 20 for four weeks at number one with the assistance of KEVIN ‘PRINCE OF the Airwaves’ Ncube. Skull Crackers saw their song roster with some of Urban grooves finest material. The decline of their Mai vaLeopold fame led to the rise of a solo career. He is among some of very first hip-hop artists to incorporate elements of vernacular and R&B elements into their rap style. Although making music is paramount Blaq Point has worked and shared the stage with legendary names like Kapitaĺ K,Ps Quint,King Labash, Mizchif ,Mau Mau, Psycho world.

Nkosana SixteenBars is a producer, songwriter and recording artist from Maitland Capetown,Born in Bulawayo Zimbabwe Nkosana started to Pursue Music as a career in Cape Town where he was heavily influenced by the late Blewusi Gbenou(cousin) who was Co-producer of the Rap group M.O.D which they founded together. In 2011 M.0.D released a mixtape (The Paradigm) under the Label Jazzy Records Africa which they followed up with a series of performances around Capetown.

In 2012 Blewusi Gbenou(Co - founder of M.O.D) suffered a cardiac arrest and Died, this led to an introspection in Nkosana SixteenBars' career as he parted ways with the label Jazzy Records Africa to pursue a solo career as a music producer. In 2013 Nkosana produced his Debut mixtape along side Blaqpoint titled Cape to Cairo which they released as Designated Hustlers ,this project preceded Cape to Cairo Volume 2 which they released in early 2015

In 2016 Somethingfromthemotherland is due to release their Debut Album Titled #BrotherFromAnotherMother
