Bio

Something Like A Monument started out as a musical union between Donald Custer and Jamie Shemanski. The two met in music theory class at Manheim Central High School. With their mutual love of prog rock, blues and jazz, they chose the name "Something Like A Monument" from the King Crimson song "Dinosaur." In the summer of 2007 the duo recorded an ep entitled "Hymns from the Attic". It was 5 tracks with Jamie on drums, vocals and guitar, and Donald co-writing the songs and playing bass. In 2008 Jamie moved to Philadelphia while Donald started college in Pittsburgh. Donald was forced to withdraw from classes his first year after the passing of his mother. The group took a break. Flash forward to 2011. The two linked up with childhood friend Nathan Stormfeltz to fulfill the role of drummer. Now as a three piece band, they are gearing up to record a new ep not yet titled and concentrating on establishing their fan base in Philadelphia.
