Something Strange

Something Strange

BandRockPop

A fun, energetic rock band with a sound similar to Cheap Trick and a stage presence like Bon Jovi. Just simply good old rock and roll.

Biography

Something Strange
originated in the suburbs of Chicago in 1998. At that time, the band consisted of three brothers, Keith Jakresky on vocals, Gary Jakresky on guitar, Bryan Jakresky on bass, and a close friend, Paul Sobczak on drums. They all shared the same love for making music. Something Strange wrote and performed all of their own material. People would say their music style is in the vein of Cheap Trick, Enuff Z’nuff, Holland and Off Broadway just to name a few. They performed with bands like Quiet Riot and Enuff Z’Nuff as well as many great local bands throughout the Chicagoland area. In late 2004, they added another guitarist to the line up, Curt Myers. His style made their sound more full and gave it a slightly heavier edge. That line up played around the Chicago land area for about two years. In 2006 guitarist and brother, Gary Jakresky, announced he would be moving to Indianapolis. Something Strange was left again with only one guitar player. After Gary’s departure, the band was searching desperately for another guitar player but to no avail. The guys then got together and decided to change their approach. While still looking for a guitar player, they started learning and adding more cover songs to their set. Once they found the guitar player they were looking for, they would have the songs down and they would be ready to take it to the clubs. In the beginning of 2007, they found the man for the job. A great guitar player by the name of Jason Mallow. He is the guitar player that they needed. Now the band is complete so keep your eye's out because they are coming to a club near you!

Stay tuned!!!

Lyrics

Keep On Loving You

Written By: Keith Jakresky

She lives her life
And does without
So you could have the things
You dream about
And she won’t complain
She’ll only make it better

You can make her mad
But she’ll never shout
She always finds a way
To work it out
With a smiley face
She makes it all feel better

(Chorus)
She knows what she needs and
It’s her life she wants to keep it
And she’ll find a way
To Keep On Loving You

She knows what she needs in
Her life she wants to keep it
And she’ll find a way
To Keep On Loving You

When there’s days
You’re feeling down
She’s always there
To turn it around
With a strong embrace
She’ll get you feeling better

And when your there
With your childish pout
She’ll let ya have your way
And let it out
When no one cares
She’s always there to listen

(Chorus)
She knows what she needs and
It’s her life she wants to keep it
And she’ll find a way
To Keep On Loving You

She knows what she needs and
It’s her life she wants to keep it
And she’ll find a way
To Keep On Loving You

And she never gives in
Eve when you’re on the ground
She never gives in
She’ll only turn it all around

(Solo)
(Chorus x2)
(Fade)

Can You Save Me

Written By: Keith Jakresky

I don’t like the new me now
These days aren’t like they use to be
I never thought that I could loose
So easily

I always thought I had the plan
I knew just what I want to be
And they say sometimes the things you want
Aren’t what you need

(Chorus)
Can you save me
Now that I’ve gone crazy
Can you save me

It never use to be a drag
I never use to live in doubt
I never thought it chew me up
And spit me out

And you can point your finger now
And tell me that you told me so
As I loose my grip I’m letting go
Of all I know

(Chorus)
Can you save me
Now that I’ve gone crazy
Can you save me

(Break)
(Chorus x2)
(Fade)

Sympathetic So Pathetic

Written By: Keith Jakresky

Woke up today
And thought about it
You were always
What I wanted
The problem is
You didn’t see it that way

You were always looking
For so much better
And your feelings changed
Just like the weather
Leaving it alone is better you’d say…you’d say

(Chorus)
And now your crying
Don’t do much to me
Cause I do Sympathetic so Pathetically
Cause I do Sympathetic so Pathetically

Just when you thought you found
The things you needed
Your whole new life
Was blown to pieces
I guess your love went out of season I’d say

And now you come back here
And say you’re sorry
And that you never stopped
thinking about me
And how your life’s no good without me…you’d say…too late

(Chorus)
And now your crying
Don’t do much to me
Cause I do Sympathetic so Pathetically
Cause I do Sympathetic so Pathetically
SO PATHETIC!

(Solo)
(Chorus)
(Fade)
