Something with Trees

Something with Trees formed in Peoria, IL in August of 2011 while Brian was hosting a local open mic that Collin regularly attended. After being blown away by what Collin could do with a violin and mandolin, Brian humbly asked if Collin would be interested in collaborating. I suppose the fact that you're currently reading a band bio should give you a clue as to what his answer was.

Brian had been friends with Shaina for a few years. While they had shared the stage together on a few occasions prior to the band's inception, they never collaborated consistently. With Collin on board, there was room to continue to expand the act.

Since that time, Something with Trees has continued to garner support from the local Central Illinois community and is trying their hardest to expand their reach of modest influence into far away lands via CD releases, live shows, and social media assaults.

In March of 2012, the band enthusiastically welcomed Austin Thompson on drums. After wanting to ask Austin for a while, SWT finally decided to go for it-- because it's exactly who they wanted. With an enthusiastic response and a chemistry that couldn't be ignored, the band grew a little bigger and a lot better.

Their first album was released on November 18th, 2011. As the gigs accumulate and the writing grows, Something with Trees hopes to be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
